Lucas did absolutely nothing in the time he was on, can't say that he's been particularly impressive outside of the first month of the season.
He's our 5th choice attacking midfielder, he isn't gonna be perfect. But this game needed fresh legs. He came on at a point in the game where we couldn't string together 5 passes. A winger is never going to make an impact in a game like that.

James Maddison if he leaves please!

Can see Eriksen running down his contract as Real will almost certainly move for Hazard in the summer who also has just 18 months the run. The difference is if Eriksen only wants to move to Real they can afford to wait whereas they don’t have that luxury with Hazard so I can imagine they’d prioritise him.

He came on as fresh legs and did nothing though. Sure it's going to be difficult for him to make an impact but that is his job, if he was never going to make an impact in a game where we needed goals and energy off the bench then what's the point of having him? I don't see why you think he should have started when he did nothing when he came on. He's obviously not the only one but he was disappointing today.

Like I said we hardly even got the ball into the attacking group by the time he was on. Simply my opinion we could have used him to start and bring Dele on later. Think that would have been a more effective use of those two in hind sight.

Seriously, who could we get for 50m to replace Eriksen. Would 50m temp Ajax for Zyeich?

Think we'd have to go up to 70 or so and land Sancho to be sure on replacing him. I'm not totally convinced by Zyeich.
We'll probably pay less and get someone that might be as good in coming years, while not winning anything in the meanwhile.

Maddison is definitely not what we need if Eriksen leaves.

Honestly Madrid might accept that for Isco but I don't see him coming here. Nabil Fekir, but he isn't as much of a creator as Eriksen. Would have to find an up and comer, Pablo Fornals from Villarreal maybe? I'd probably go all in on a CM who can create from deep, leave Dele as the #10 and buy a really good winger.

Might be worth trying winks slightly more advanced. Winks is a good player but defensively he's a bit worrying.

My biggest issue with Winks thus far is he provides little in the final third, I still don't think we've ever seen him play a through ball.

Not for me. He’s good at keeping the ball moving and can carry the ball to the final third, but I don’t rate his ability to pick a through ball for the front men and he hasn’t shown any goal scoring tendencies.

That's what I'd like to do, Dele in the middle and sign Sancho for the wide role. I guess it's all debatable what position a player have in our tactics though. Some would say Eriksen is the man on the right, as there's where he often go on runs.
I'd take a leaf of Atletico Madrid's book, they lost world class striker after striker, but knew they needed to replace with similar quality. Instead of making a profit and buy three average players in different position they went all in and signed the best striker they could get their hands on. Torres - Forlan - Aguero - Costa - Griezmann etc. Star players must be replaced by star quality.
I see no problem spending 70m on Sancho if it's to replace Eriksen going for similar. It's money we wouldn't have without the sale anyway.

If Eriksen goes to Real Madrid, what's the odds on us taking Martin Ødegaard in return though? Could see that happen. That's more in our transfer profile to be honest. Someone younger with similar talent, but yet to deliver at the same level.

None of those guys were stars (outside of probably Forlan) when they started at Atletico. They just scout incredibly well at that position.
