If we sell Eriksen this window I’m going to spend most of the rest of the season hiding behind the nice people in Row 6 in front of me in the Paxton. We looked fucking clueless against AV and NUFC without him on the pitch - as soon as he came on the ball moved (through him) with so much more snap...

I think a descion needs to be decided before the game against arsenal

We don't normally bother changing anything until at least 60 minutes no matter how badly things go, so by the same token maybe we'll consider a different approach in February or March.

Start him, or drop him completely from the squad. Having him on the bench is a nonsense. He's our most creative player, and its fcking ridiculous watching him on the bench, when the balls moving sideways for over an hour.
But if he's causing that much of a problem, don't have him playing at all. One or the other, its getting stupid.

I’m not sure Poch is playing this one right.

As long as Eriksen (and Verts for that matter) is at the club surely we play him, put out our very best 11 and try to win every game.

Eriksen is in limbo and I think it’s being further exasperated by benching him and discussing the uncertainty around him to the press.

I’m beginning to believe that Poch is playing games with levy by not playing Eriksen and losing/playing badly he is showing Levy how much he needs Either Eriksen or,if he’s sold, an equivalently good creative midfield player.

And Levy can do fuck all about it. So there's that..

I suspect that Poch isn't starting Eriksen because his head is in the clouds at the moment and that is showing in training. Poch is clearly extremely upset with the situation, more than anything because it is so disruptive for the whole squad dynamic. But he is not the type to play games with the match day squad to send a message to Levy. The only message he consistently wants to send is that his match day squad is based on a meritocracy and you have to earn your place by giving 100% in training whoever you are. I would rather see Eriksen play every game, but I respect and understand why Poch would drop him for the sake of his bigger philosophy. Same with Verts - he lost his place likely due to fitness and probably a degree of complacency. Sanchez is a big prospect and key for the future, so the position is now his to lose, and I am sure if his level drops and Verts is giving his all in training he will play soon enough.

Regardless of Eriksen’s head being “turned” he has to play. Without him we look so dull. His creativity is desperately needed. If he leaves then so be it, get everything we can out of him while he is here!

Not so sure. The Eriksen of 17/18 mostly certainly yes. No question he is so gifted. But the team hasn’t functioned since January whether Eriksen’s been in the team or not. There’s a far deeper underlying problem. Whatever the outcome of this window, Poch is not happy with how it’s played out at all.
