He doesn't always look for the easy pass. That makes him a nightmare for the opposition because he can go anywhere given a little space. We will miss him, even his challenging has got better. He can't tackle so he gets back and just gets in the way if he can.

I am not a fan I respect his abilities but to me he is a flat track bully and when we have really needed him he has gone missing .
If for now to the end of the season he turns up for what are all big games then I will hold up my hands and say "I'm sorry for doubting I was wrong" but I will add don't hold your breath.

Flat track bully? Give me a break.

Just off the top of my head, his winning goal at the Etihad, his pass to Dele for that goal in the FA Cup semi, his two crosses for Dele when we beat them 2-0 at WHL, his goal against Inter this season. The guy has pulled off top quality moments against top sides loads of times.

It’s bit like saying so and so striker is a flat track bully because he scores less against the top six. Well, off course he does, those matches will have less chances and better tactical plans to stop good players, so it’s only natural.

To me, the “gone missing” part of some posts ties in with the theory about Eriksen fitting into surrounding quality. When teammates drop in performance level, Eriksen will too as a consequence. But since Eriksen is central whether or not the team plays well, he will also look the central part of a performance drop. Other players can drop AND hide. Eriksen can’t hide, so he carries other’s shortcomings on his shoulders.

So many of these comments. Wow. I swear I was reading the same misinformed, deluded nonsense when Modric was on his way out. And he went on to be crowned the best player in the world.

If you don’t rate Eriksen. I really can’t have a conversation with you about football.

He's a fantastic player but we really need him to come into form.

Yeah happened with Carrick as well to a lesser degree, some people never learn :D

Not quite correct
What he does is quickly close down passing lanes to force the opposition to take a option they didn't want to and cause indecision in the opponent.
He is actually very good at this.

But lately he seems to be playing very within himself and even I have been questioning his commitment to the cause of late.
He can be absolutely unplayable at times but I get what people get frustrated with him as he plays like he is worried about being tackled I also think there has been a few occasions lately when he has just kicked the ball away rather than be tackled:(

So he does not play well and its the players around him that are the reason .You muppets that keep touting him as world class should learn that the world class players are the ones that lift their game so as to help the lesser players play better also they step up when needed .They don't need to be surrounded by world class players to prove their own ability.
The top players are the ones that out perform their team mates they do not disappear in games because others are not as good as them
bless him the poor sole he is playing crap because of the rest of the team are not very good .the mans a snowflake if his form relies on him being surrounded by players of his and when I say his I mean his perceived level.

As for Carrick I was one of his biggest fans but there were many that just did not get what a good player he was.
To say that you are not a fan of Eriksen makes you a dummy is just tripe I can just as easily say that if you think he is world class then you are the dummy and I am sure that if the powers that be at Real Madrid have been following Eriksen for most of this season then they will not touch him with a bargepole. If he stands up and plays like the world class player some say he is for the rest of the season then I might have to revise my opinion and will willingly apologise even grovel but I don't believe thats going to happen .

He wants to leave so what can we do? Lets be honest, he has pretty much been in Madrid since January anyway. We just have to get as much money for him as possible. We'll only be getting £25m for Toby so it is imperative to get as much as we can for Eriksen. Have to hope Perez ponies up big bucks for him. But that'll be tough when he's bound to go in huge for Mbappe.

Glad I’m not the only one shaking my head at some of the comments being made about him here. These same idiots, and yes I am calling them idiots if they’re blind to see the quality running through Eriksen, were the same lot no doubt who rubbished Carrick when he left & Modric.

I've noticed some people saying if Eriksen goes to RM we should ask for Kovacic. Can I just ask what people see in this guy? Has looked bang average at Chelsea, was pretty much on the bench for Croatia in the World Cup if i remember correctly and can't make it in the first 11 at RM. I remember in the summer transfer window, there was a thread and people were creaming themselves over him. Why? I must be missing something.

Kobacic or what ever his fucking name is- he is average. The people who wanked over him are deranged. Typical SC. Someone says the guy is a God and the rest follow. Teenage adulation. It’s the football equivalent of a friggin Ponzi scheme.

But people threw a hissyfit when we didn't just pay the £50m-£60m for Kovacic in the summer. The same with Malcom etc. Over £100m worth of players there people demanded who haven't exactly set the world alight

Funny. Some said the same over Modric.

The guy is a quality footballer and will show that if given another season on the premiership.

Even more so if he's at a club that can really feel part of. At Inter, Madrid and even Chelsea he's never really looked settled. IMO.

Moutinho was such a miss back in the day, could still be an important squad member for us now - would’ve been brilliant in same team as Eriksen

He’s missing Dembele big time, they used to dovetail very well. I think it’s aligned to the big drop off in quality of our central midfield and that he’s still not over his injury problems.
