So you think Eriksen is best AM in the world?
I don't have that much knowledge about the other leauges and players in general, so i was asking on here what people think. I can agree with @dtxspurs that De bruyne is at least as good (or even slightly better) - forgot about him to be honest.

There is absolutely no way on this earth that Levy will let Eriksen run his contract down. The attempt to replace him is still going to cost as much in 18 months time, maybe more if transfer fees keep increasing. I'd be happy to see him run his contract down to get another 18 months out of him but absolutely zero chance that Levy sanctions that, IMHO.
I dunno if I'd bet on it to actually happen, but Levy taking the stance that he's happy to let Eriksen run his contract down seems like the Levy-est negotiation tactic. If it's true that wages aren't CE's main motivation and his team have taken the position that stalling on an extension has lowered his transfer value enough to get him his mega move, the club stand more to gain if they raise that bet rather than letting them win and panic selling in the summer at a cut rate.

His team evidently feel this is the right time to start making waves, but where will RM be in 12-18 months? Can they take the chance that there will still be a position for him at one of his dream clubs, or that he won't get injured or dropped in the interim? Can he stay focused enough to stay in MP's good graces during all this maneuvering? It puts some pressure on his people to figure out if they want to take that (substantial) risk and, if not, test how much they can influence RM to make a deal happen now.

With all the current noise, I'm guessing they think they can force Levy's hand now for a summer move, but if that doesn't happen I wouldn't be shocked to see a contract extension with a release clause signed after the window closes, just to get everyone's cards on the table and establish some contingency plans. I don't think his people let him go into the summer with no new contract.

Full translation of everything Eriksen says for those interested:

Regarding the possibility that the names of several big continental clubs have been linked with him

"It's not something i think about. I focus on playing football, and there are a lot of matches you need to think about, and that needs to be won"

Regarding the Madrid rumour specifically

"It's not the first time there have been rumours, and when the papers write something, it isn't something we control, and if there isn't anything concrete, then i'm just commenting on rumours"

About the Tottenham extension and whether it's a "waiting game"

"I think people know what i want to do, and i know what they (Tottenham) would like, and there is a good dialogue."

He's a very good player, if Madrid people were comparing him to Hazard last night that's great news for Spurs. Yep, he had an off day, Hazard is in the elite that Eriksen isn't.

As the last two times we played Chelsea, it was the other way around.

Look, I appreciate we look a\t things through Spurs tinted glasses, the vast majority would have Hazard over Eriksen
For what role though ? Hazard cannot do what Eriksen does by way of supporting his own defence and other midfielders. Eriksen cannot do what Hazard does when attacking goal but they are different players performing differing roles. Silly to compare them. Ideally you would want them both in your team as they compliment one another.

Real probably do want both. I don’t see anything happening until the summer though unless it’s stupid money. Don’t see Isco coming to us. See it getting close then he moves to a club like Chelsea or Utd for considerably more wage
