Ok it's not quite the end of the season so we can wait until then to vote if you want - somehow it's customary for the bbc to hold these events a little to early.

Bugger it I'm on a high and reminiscing about all the amazing moments this season that the players have produced.

So many shouts for me.

Alli has improved so much and has become an assassin deadlier than Lampard.

Kane has had another memorable year having to overcome injury obstacles with the best minutes to goal ratio in the league.

Eriksen has really dominated the last segment of the season with many key moments.

Dembele has been superb as usual, pirouetting past them all.

Wanyama has been a revelation - taking us to the next level.

Rose was having a barnstormer before getting cruelly injured.

Verts and Aldi have been again the most formidable partnership.

Son has been our most improved player I would say, adapting to the league.

But surely the vote has to go to Sissoko for corner flag tekkers....

Actually my vote (so far) goes to Alli for his coming of age and maturity to deal with the hype, and consistently produce for us.

I've allowed you to change your votes if you want to if the last 4 games sway your opinion.

Eriksen has been outstanding for me and at a consistency I wasn't sure he had in him.

Alli has been amazing just cannot believe we have the boy.

Jan and Toby best CB pairing in the league.

But my vote goes to Big Vic in the middle of the park he's beeen a bit of a revelation to me with a level of consistency through out the whole year that just tips things in his favour.

We have had such a great year it is really hard to name just one :)

Vertonghen.

He's been our rock this season. Been the best CB in the league by a country mile and has been a huge part of the reason for our defence being so solid this season. Quality, quality player.

Christ - the first time I could genuinely give this to half a dozen players

I think the OP's comment about Alli having dealt with the pressure and hype probably swings it. The sort of 'second season syndrome' that you dream of !

I think ultimately he is a better centre back than Jan, but he has in no way outperformed him this year, and to suggest otherwise is ridiculous.

You think Jan has outperformed Toby? seriously?? Are you related to Ty?!

I don't think there is even a question about it. Vertonghen has easily been our best centre back this season. That's not to say Toby has been bad, but he was out for a long spell, and hasn't quite been as good as last year. Jan has been imperious all season long. Again, I think Toby is the better centre back all things considered, but that doesn't mean he's performed better than Jan this season.

Incredible, about 20 votes in and not one for Kane - just shows you the strength of our team

My top 3 is

Wanyama. I just didn't believe he had that level and the consistency he has shown this year has been quite amazing. I wasn't even sure he'd be a starter for us, let alone a star for us. Truly impressive season.

Eriksen next on the list, this was huge for him. You always guessed he had that level but he just hadn't fully convinced you of it. This year he's proved it, prone to the occasional quiet game but he's undoubtedly moved into the next bracket of player

Then it's Alli. A couple of dodgy games but no sign of 2nd season syndrome. Continues to improve and is looking Lampard-esque for goals in midfield. It's been very exciting to see this guy grow.... and there is still plenty of scope.

Then I consider it a blanket finish. So many worthy players, Alderweirald and Jan have been exceptional. Walker has improved quite a bit and Lloris has had another very solid and reassuring year. Dembele has further backed his credentials to be one of the best in the league. Son has finally started to put it all together - he came to us as primarily a counter attacker but has evolved his game into something much more complete.

Special metions though to Kane and Rose. Kane has continued to prove the doubters wrong and do it emphatically. Rose has had quite a long and tough journey with us to get to this point but is really starting to impose himself and is genuinely feared by all now. I pick out these last 2 also because I feel if we'd had them fully fit all year we'd be winning this title.

This thread should be a good read in a few days... providing we keep winning, if not it'll end up being a lementable heap of dross full of people venting and whinging. Please don't let it go that way.

I think Rose was probably player of the season for me before his injury of course. His footballing attitude is wonderful. I'm sure had Kane not got injured he would be above Lukaku and also most people's player of the season perhaps.

30 votes, still no Kane. Amazing.

Quite a few votes getting shared around too. Normally this is one or two players then daylight. Just shows the team strength.

p.s I'm not counting that vote for Sissoko

Our attacking midfield has really stepped up this season, sharing so many goals and assists, so the votes are mainly heading Eriksen and Alli's way so far, I feel sorry for Son because he has been a major part of that too getting us so many points early on in the season. Couldn't believe he didn't start against West Brom I think when we drew that (he was scoring every game). He's had to put up with so much rotation compared to the other candidates.

For me it comes down to a few candidates:

Verts - he's been sensational at the back and boy did we miss him when he wasn't around
Wanyama - has taken our midfield presence up a couple of notches and has been very neat in possession. Has surprised me
Eriksen - the guy that makes us tick and, in my opinion, our best player
Alli - while he can go quiet in games, when we need goals against big teams, he has a very handy tendency to come up with one

For me though, it's our great Dane - he's stepped up this season and I think of all our players (maybe one of the CBs) he's the one who could most comfortably play in any side in the world

I think Alli has to win an award. So much like the PFA, I would cheekily give him the young player of the year, so I could spread the love to another player in the squad.

Then for the main award, there are so many potential picks, but I would lean towards Eriksen. He has been involved with so many goals and assists, and his work rate has been fantastic (which he often doesn't get credit for).

I think that does a disservice to Toby. It's much closer than that. I'd say Verts has edged it but it's not ridiculous to go in either direction.

No question for me anyway. Eriksen.
