Great first fixture

Yep. If we can’t win that we don’t deserve to be top 4, win the league or whatever.

It’s probably already been covered but the Man City and arsenal games in the first 5 games makes it even more important that we get players in early and bedded in.

I notice the last game of the season is away to Crystal Palace....does that mean the Premiership Trophy will be presented the week before at home to Leicester....oh and will it be before the match or after ??.......(n)(y).

(God loves a trier :))

This mid-season 'break' seems utterly pointless. The vast majority of teams often manage to have a weekend off here and there when they get knocked out of the cups. I don't really prescribe to the idea that it's needed, but if you're going to do it, do it properly.

Those are good fixtures. We really are a top club now getting favouritism.

Great that we only play 1 top 6 side in the last two months. Feels like Liverpool’s fixtures from last year. All the top sides away from home first and a winnable run in.

I’m still not over the shock that Arsenal have a ‘spurs like’ opening day fixture of going up to Newcastle.

It does make you wonder, now that we are the champion's league side and they ain't.

Are we closing or transfer windows before the season starts again this year ? or was that now universally considered a dreadful idea?

That's a pretty good set of fixtures. 8 points from the first 4 games and we really will be cooking on gas.

The fixtures highlight even more so why we need our incoming in well before preseason. Can't go to City or Arsenal with players still getting to grips with Poch's training methods. We need to be ready and firing.

Agreed but even if we have signed players before then, Poch might consider those games a bit too big to throw them into. Especially if they’ve been signed from overseas leagues.
But that’s why we need a bigger squad.

For example Dier & Lamela may start those 2 games, but Ndombele & Lo Celso could start at home to Newcastle.

Who's this "International Break"-team? We seem to play them every few weeks or so which is a bummer and seems a bit repetitive.

Our schedule is incredibly well spaced out, imo. There's a nice balance in regards to fixture difficulty.

Actually the week before Palace play away at Wolves, so in that case the Premiership Trophy would be presented at The Molineux. However, if it comes down to the last day of the season then it will be presented at Selhurst Park, with the ceremony I believe taking place after their match with us.

Only us and Norwich don't play any of the top 6 in successive games.

Everton have four in a row, twice.
