I have to admit to secretly envying Liverpool and West Ham having songs that really unite the crowd. 'You'll never walk alone' is a masterpiece.
Glad All Over at Palace bangs too. For some reason I love Newcastle's Local Hero too, no lyrics and it's not particularly a stomper, but it somehow fits perfectly.

Oh yes, Glad all over is a great one. I had forgotten about that.

Another good example of what is kind of a cheesy old song but it has a connection to the club that resonates with the crowd and engages the passion of the supportsers. The song need not be dramatic itself (like duel of fates) or overtly invite crowd participation (like queen or thunder), it just needs to resonate and engage supporters.

While I’m sympathetic to your argument, I would point out that glory glory; oh when the Spurs; and he’s one of our own...are all American songs.
And Thunderstruck and We will Rock You aren't American songs.

Football fans singing some old ditties is one thing, but the whole over the top razzmatazz is all a bit daft.

Watching derby videos on YouTube in my commute.

Simply the best at Rangers sounds class. We need something to get everyone singing like that.

I’d love something with Lyrics like YNWA that 62k can sing along too. But I’d also like something Rocky and anthemic. It’s just really hard to find something with relevant lyrics that aren’t also cheesy. Although this thread may have started as a bit of fun actually think it’s quite important. We possibly have a once in a generation or longer chance to find a real anthem. There’s no question YNWA is a huge part of the so called famous Anfield atmosphere.
