This is an example of why an early window close for the PL can be a bad thing. With Lukaku just confirmed to Inter, it would pave the way for Icardi to move, potentially to Juve who would then be way more keen to offload Dybala. But with such a short time left in the window and no rush for Juve to conclude a deal with Inter for Icardi, then we've got no chance of Dybala deal going through. If we were all on the same window timeline then potentially.

Yes English clubs have actually screwed themselves over by changing it.

Even if we get Lo Celso and Sessegnon I'm disappointed. Toby and Eriksen will problably not sign new contracts, Rose wants leave and has permission to find a new club and Trippier is gone. Sure, he didn't have the best season, but he was 1st choice ahead off Aurier and KWP. Maybe we are stronger atm, but with the the Eriksen, Tony and Rose situation we're in a tricky situation.

Dybala would have felt so good. Oh well..

I like the window to close before the season starts TBH. But the whole of Europe at least should be on sync with this. Is so unfair and difficult to deal with different closures for different leagues. Is plain ridiculous!

Funny thing is most people on here thought it was a good idea at the time.

Closing the transfer window before the season begins is absolutely the right decision, so long as every other European league follows suit. We've put ourselves at a disadvantage.

Reminded me a bit of the Isco links a few seasons back - always was unlikely and would have been awesome but ultimately not disappointed really as I always kinda knew it wouldn't happen. Great to see we tried for a player of that status though - we have come a long way as a club.

Hopefully this time next year we will actually be signing players like this.

Toby was never going to sign, and we have Sanchez to fill his role next year and we can also concentrate on his replacement when he's about to go, rather than right now.

I think we need to see what happens with Eriksen, IMO he will sign a new deal if he stays as it will get him better money for the next year and shouldn't his chances of moving on.

Trippier going is no big drama and Foyth will replace him.

Rose is still here and will be likely be replaced long term with Sess.

In the end, assuming we bring in Sess and GLC shortly, we will be in a much stronger position IMO than last season. Next window/year we will then have to concentrate on replacing Toby, and to a degree Eriksen. But that's not an enormous task.

I STILL BELIEVE
1 minute is more then enough

1 minute + another 2 hours on a deal sheet - it will be interesting to see if we have submitted a deal sheet for Dybala, on the basis we might still be able to work things out with Juve and the rights. Unlikely i know...
