He was a decent player but just didn't adapt to the pace and physicality of the league. I think he would probably do well in Italy but there is no way Barcelona would sign him, his passing ability was average at best.

Agree.

Think he is a tidy player but was not ready for the prison football we some times play over here. Or the intensity of the league.

And we should know!
Yes should is the right word. We should know but when people are blinded by prejudice and biasness, they would not be able to make fair judgement although logically they should be able to.
An example, paulinho is accused of having poor ball control and poor passing. He plays for brazil and was voted best foreign import in the CSL. Either Spurs is in the class of Real Madrid and Barcelona or the above claim on paulinho are complete bullshite.

Look, there might be a player there who shines in the might of the CSL, but as far as Spurs are concerned he was utterly atrocious for us and a complete coward to boot. There's no reason or evidence for us to think anything else about him.

hahahahahahaha

He was at Spurs for two seasons and was beyond awful for the entire time. He was slow, weak in the tackle, had poor ball control and rarely did anything remotely impressive. How does he compare to Eriksen, Alli, Wanyama, Dembele or Winks? He is not fit to lace the boots of any of them.

Being voted the best foreign player in a tinpot league is not much of an achievement. Vincent Janssen was top scorer in the dutch league!

Paulinho was one of the most underwhelming players I've ever seen at Spurs. He came for a large fee and I saw nothing to suggest why we had chosen to purchase him.

Truth is that I thought he was a good player and could do some clever stuff on the pitch given time and space, in the premier league though you don't get time and space, wrong club, wrong league, wrong time for him and let's be honest, we haven't missed him in the least.

From the Sissoko thread you seem to rate him and this thread, Paulinho. Out of interest, who do you think that we've had at Spurs in recent times that has been awful?

Brazil star Paulinho says he has an offer to move to Barcelona

http://www.espnfc.com/story/3148043/brazil-star-paulinho-says-he-has-an-offer-to-move-to-barcelona

And the midfielder has confirmed the speculation, telling Globoesporte: "There's been contact with my agent. There's an offer [from Barca], it's true, and the two parties are talking.

"I'm really proud that a great club like Barcelona are interested in my situation -- there is no price for that."

However, Paulinho also said he's not sure whether a switch to Camp Nou would be the best move for his career right now.

"At the moment I'm really happy with my life and with my career," he added. "When you're in a situation like the one I'm in, it's difficult to make a decision.

"There are a lot of things that I have to weigh up, one of them being my happiness.

"I think, first of all, the way things are with my partner here in China... We really like where we are, the people, how things are with the club, the success... The truth is that I don't know [what to do]."

Don't know what his wage is but probably be more than what Barca's offering.

So he has an offer from Barca mean it must be fake. Because most Spurs fans declare he is a shite player therefore he cannot be good.
I wonder which is more hilarious.

A month ago he was close to joining Bayern now Barca can't wait to get hold of him, he must have the best agent in the world.

He must be a decent player... I mean plays regularly for Brazil, big clubs apparently in for him...

For whatever reason, he never played to a high level with us.

I will still remember the last min goal at Cardiff, one of my best away day memories, so for that I say thanks :)

He coildve been a decent player for us if he hadn't been so fundamentally gutless. Never seen a player pull out of tackles the way he did.

His game back from suspension at home to stoke where Charlie Adam attempted to break his legs was the best game he played for us, he was great in that game.

Dude, take a breath, is this the hill you want to die on? Defending Paulinho?

Fact is, he was supposed to be good before he came here, he was crap, really crap when he played here and then buggered off to China where he is by all accounts, not crap.

You really cant go all out attack on Spurs fans for basing an opinion about a player on how he performed the time he played for Spurs, which was bad. He might not be crap now or might not have been crap before but i don't follow Brazilian or Chinese league football but did see quite a lot of Spurs when he was here, and he was crap, well crap.
