now we have signed modric all these itk's are comming out of the woodwork with names like eto'o, joaquin, villa what is the world comming too?

we will never attract any of these without cl football!

dont get me wrong id love to see these people at the lane but it seems that some of you actually think we will get them!!!

Dont worry about it, its fun to read as long as you dont take it as fact or get annoyed by it (surely if you do its best just to reframe from reading it.)

Personally I dont actually believe in an ITK as such, I think there are people that get information leaked to them but it is probably thrid hand (or worse) and only the less then classified info (otherwise why did no one pick up on the Modric deal?)

So some people will hear whispers here and there, and rightly pass them on. Some of this info could be false (how can an ITK clarify 2nd or 3rd hand info?) some could be true but not pan out i.e. the clubs targets change or a signing fell through.

The rest is probably just made up for the amusement of the author.

Bottom line is only time reveals, we will all see what happens by the start of next season.

The ITK info comes as entertainment (in a gossipy/discussion sort of way) to some of us, its very clear that we should have bags of salt at the ready whenever we read such things.

I suggest that anyone who gets agitated by the rumours linking us to players you feel we can never sign simply dont read such friends. i.e. if you see a thread titled 'ITK- ETO/MESSI double swoop' and you know already this thread is not to your liking....simply stay away from the thread.

I think the mods may have the right idea when suggested a forum for ITK be developed and that way only people who like to read it need see the threads and the rest of Spurs chat will not be flooded with threads that seem to offend so many people (or should I say get up peoples noses)

Hahah. Yeah, Goldie pre-collagen (sp?) was amazing. Kate Hudson, equally beautiful even without much chest. But as for Overboard!, good/funny movie if you were 7 when it came out. Kurt Russell at his comedic peak, right after "Big Trouble in Little China."

I was hoping for a thread about the delightful 80's comedy starring Kurt Russell and Goldie Hawn.

I'm disappointed. :-|

I dont think I would be surprised as it would be consistent with our luck / record, but lets be positive.

It's easy to tempt them - wave so much money in their face that they can't resist, then let them go the press and say all the usual "it's an offer i couldn't refuse"/"I'd be letting my family down"/"It's not about the money, it's about furthering my career" excuses...

Ronaldinho wants £140k a week? That's f*cking obscene and more than the turnover of some small countries - but he'll get it.

"oh, but they have a very high risk career and they need these high wages to offset their relatively short career" and why is that? Because the thirst for entertainment has lead to so much cash being poured into the game (Murdoch, you are such a ****) that these players can be as thick as a Polish whore's minge mud - as long as they can kick a ball, they don't need to think.

Look at the guys who work as matchday hosts at the Lane. Look at how many former players are now pundits on the TV or radio. How many write columns in papers or host awards ceremonies or dinner parties? Why? Because they HAVE to. They didn't get paid obscene amounts to live in a made up world of glam - they played a game then, when they couldn't play anymore, got a f*cking job, like the rest of the world do.

Give it ten years - the current crop of players won't need to do that - they'll just buy huge swathes of land, huge mansions, then sit there and do whatever they like as they have this insane slush fund that no human in his right mind is worth or could spend.

It's one of the most annoying factors of this mis-distribution of wealth across the globe (though i do know that there are a few players who "anonymously" donate more than their fair share of wages to charities before they even see it, but not enough...)

I think most Spurs fans are pretty philosophical about these stories these days, it's all a bit of fun, the difference is that a few years ago we hoped and other fans mocked whereas now we whistle and wait and other fans worry.

Modric is a good example, people may not bracket him with Ronaldinho or Kaka (well he's not brazilian is he?) but he is a step up from a few years ago and there are quite a few other fans out there who are just a little gobsmacked. Recent acquisitions have made these stories just a little less rediculous.

Edit: Murdoch, you are such a ****) that these players can be as thick as a Polish whore's minge mud - as long as they can kick a ball, they don't need to think.

Rocksuperstar I love this quote hope you don't mind if I purloin it for my sig.

Yup, Kate Hudson is lovely, and she was married to Chris Robinson of The Black Crowes, who's a cool fella.. Its weird you mention Big Trouble, cos it was on the other night!! lol..

Back on topic..ummm... I think we've gotta be realistic about our chances of getting top top players, due basically to the fact that we're not competing in the Champs league, i'm sure if we were, we'd be able to pull much bigger names to our squad.. But thats basically a given i suppose.

Overboard is a good movie. It shows Goldie Hawn in the smallest bikini/thong and naked at one point. Good stuff for the 80s, funny too.

Oh yeah, ITK is always ridiculous. Otherwise it would be believable.,...Eek

Whoah. I stand corrected.

Awesome!
