I’d like him to have another go with a team in the premier league to see how he can do. Let’s face it, he doesn5 need the money now so club go to any club he fancies if they were willing to give him a go.

Aaron Lennon today saying AVB was his favourite manager to play under, the best man manager and his training sessions were unbelievably good.

Interesting stuff.

That is indeed surprising. Would have bet on him saying Redknapp.
He said Redknapp gave the best team talks, basically “give the ball to Aaron, Gareth and Luka, then cross it or get it to Jermaine or Crouchy etc and they will score” 🤣 sounds about right arry.

He also said the Chelsea players hated AVB but just shows some managers work well for some players and not others.

I liked AVB. Smart guy who got comp goosed by the shitheads in the Chelsea team of the time and never really recovered from it.

We weren't boring under AVB.

He played a ludicrously high line.

It was the constantly being demolished by the Sky 4 that I'll always remember from his tenure.

We did alright against the trams below us and around us, but as soon as we played a side with a decent attack, we'd ship 5.

I can assure you that I was very bored watching us under AVB . Was delighted to see the back of him .

Could never understand the adulation some fans had for AVB, not based on the football we saw. I guess he was a sort of proxy for how they saw themselves: the smart guy who wasn’t very good at sports, but whose superior intellect made him better suited to be a manager than all those dumb jocks who’d actually played the game.
