I think it's fair to say that we are in better shape than them at the moment. They've brought in some pretty average players and their big money signings are either not turning up (Ozil) or think it's beneath them to play for the club (Sanchez). We're in a great position to have our best EPL season and the Gooners are throwing their toys out of the pram. Happy days.

Yeah. But that's not a power shift. Let's talk about that when we have a couple of seasons under our belt. And this one is not even over yet.

Consistent Champions League qualification, Premier League titles, FA Cups, League Cups, new ground - once we achieve that, we will be able to talk about power shifting. As it stands we are having a great run, but keep the bubbly locked up until we do win the title.

If we win all that it'll be the Gooners talking about power-shifts. We won't give a fuck anymore!

To be fair to us fans, a lot of these opinions are started by pundits with no affiliation to the club now. I think most of us (bar a few) learnt our lesson many years ago.

Still, it won't stop opposition fans saying "You said you were better than us" etc.

Yeah too true, Niall Quinn said it the other day. I think the majority of our fans have learnt to keep quiet with stuff to do with Arsenal regarding power shifts, mind the gap etc... now anyway.

Arsenal's best days are behind them, and aside from the FA Cup have won bugger all.

I would sincerely hope that after spending zillions on a new stadium, that Levy and Poch have their ambitions set slightly higher than that of Arsenals over the next decade.

I sincerely hope that Wenger signs the alleged two year contract extension as i cannot seem him changing the habit of a lifetime.

Wenger did change his ways a bit with the signings of Ozil and Sanchez for mega bucks. He gave the grizzling Gooner fans what they wanted and in both cases it has proved to be of limited value. Ozil blows hot and cold and as I said above, Sanchez thinks playing for them is beneath him.

There's no power shift until they have spent years finishing under us and we beat them all the time. It's a journey as much as a destination.

It's not a power shift. Its just taken us a long time to get our shit together enough to compete at the same level.

Arsenal aren't suddenly going to move into a small stadium and stop paying huge fees and wages. At worst they'll have two or three seasons of rebuilding. They're one of only a small number of clubs who have an infrastructure in place to ensure relatively consistent success compared to most, so one bad season (which could still end with them winning the FA Cup and finishing in the top 4) doesn't make them West Ham overnight.

Fortunately it looks like we've finally stepped up to that level. We'll have bad seasons again, but I'm pretty confident that we'll regularly compete at the top alongside Arsenal, Chelsea, City, United, and Liverpool.
