VVD he is the reason they are where they are, he has transformed their defence.
Hazard is close because without him Chelsea would be a mid table team.
Sterling is much more improved, but he is still a little shit, evidenced on Saturday

Of the six I wouldn't be surprised to see Hazard, Sterling, B Silva or VVD win it. All four have been simply outstanding this year and have very decent claims. My pick would be Sterling due to his off-field stance standing up against racism.

Sterling for me. With the shit he has gotten from the press and media he could have gone into a shell and no one could have blamed him.

Yes his team may be backed by a country, but I think that is even more reason that he deserves it, he has had to step up, prove he is the player that we all thought he could have been because with their billions someone would have took his place.

He has grown up, become a huge player for club and country, and because of players like him and our Harry, im so excited for what our nation could potentially achieve on the world stage.

I understand the votes for VVD, but he plays for the scousers and I hate the scousers, plus their defence was so bad it only needed a decent player to make it better. Plus he plays for the scousers, so he is a ****.

VVD and Liverpool's defence seems to have that golden glow of good fortune about them at the mo.

Sissoko should've scored, Hazard missed three sitters, Southampton ran them ragged at times and even Cardiff had their chances.

Strange how sometimes teams have these unbreachable runs irrespective of their actual defending.

Sterling has been getting better and better all season for me. I wasn't sure about him before but I think he's gone to the next level this season.

It's difficult to select a winner at the moment as well. There's a few players who I could say, but it could change depending on what happens in the last few games.

I'm surprised that Hazard is getting so many votes as well. On his day he's probably the best player in the league, but he also seems to have quite a few off days and a questionable attitude that hasn't helped their manager.

I actually think VVD is a bit over rated and to say he is the only reason liverpool are conceding less is completely wrong. sure he is far better than what liverpool had (which wasn't hard) but thay have a far better goal keeper and there midfielders are playing more defensively than they have in previous years. They seem to have been getting very lucky as well. I wouldn't replace a fully fit and firing Toby or Jan with VVD.

I think it has to be sterling. He still has the odd off game but a lot of the games when ever he gets the ball he looks dangerous and generally does something with it. Hazard has to also be up there. I have no idea where Chelsea would be without him. Probably mid table at best.

It's been difficult for any spurs players to get to that level Son has been mentioned but he has been away too much and (understandably) his form has been a bit up and down. When you consider how few of the players had a preseason or any real holiday and then playing at Wembley while hoping to play at the new stadium. This year has had to be more about the team rather than individual players for us. It does make you think if we can hold on to as many of the top players that we can. A proper pre season, in our new home and hopefully a few good players coming in next season could be amazing.

I thought the same as you, but Son's only played two or three games fewer than Sterling this season.

VVD for me. Has been instrumental in eliminating the flakiness that has held liverpool back for years.

But as was pointed out earlier, so has having some competence between the sticks. The better 'keeper has meant the entire defence hasn't had to spend each game wondering what the fuck the clueless clown behind them is going to do.

Makes a massive difference.

That's true which I hadn't realised, to qualify that a bit at points Son has looked absolutely knackered he has had 2 or 3 periods in the season where he has been amazing. In between those he hasn't been so good. Considering what Son has done for club and country he has had an amazing season. But in terms of over the season for club sterling wins. Would be great to have Son without the 3 international tournaments in one season.

Virgil Van Dijk. I used to think he was overrated but now I'm in awe of some of his performances. There's times where he genuinely seems unbeatable, and I've very rarely seen that with a CB, and that includes our own.

Sterling, VVD, Bernado Silva, Son

In that order. Sterling has been ridiculous this season.

@mawspurs just posted an article in the front page section, about Son.

Some very interesting stuff when compared to most peoples top choice of Sterling in here....

His statistics compare very favourably those of players with greater reputations. Look, for example, at how he measures up against Sterling.

He scores more Premier League goals per 90 minutes than Sterling (0.7 to 0.62), and he has 20 goals in 41 games in all competitions this season, while Sterling has 21 in 43.

They also have uncannily similar records for their clubs; Sterling has 63 in 182 matches (0.35 goals per game), while Son has 67 in 180 (0.37).

Sterling leads Son in assists this season, yet not by much: Sterling has 11 in the Premier League and Champions League, while Son has seven.

They both have very strong passing statistics, with both of them completing in the 85 percent range in both the Premier League and Champions League.

Pains me to say it but it's between Sterling and Van Dijk for me, with Van Dijk edging it. Can't remember who it was but someone I was listening to on the radio the other day made the point that you can take Sterling out of City's team and they'd still probably be challenging for the title, but if you take Van Dijk out of Liverpool their whole defence would collapse. He isn't just a good player himself but he takes the entire back half of his team to a whole other level. He's probably the player that is most valuable to his team I'd say.
