Prefer Chiesa from Fiorentina. He's gonna be world class.

Don't know much about this lad though. A lot of money to be splurging on a relative kid from Serie A. His stats aren't fantastic and not many from Italy have shone in the Premier League. Lamela prime example.

I'd prefer Chiesa also, but Fiorentina want upward of £100m. I really don't get these inflated prices - to me, no-one is worth the pathetic values banded around nowadays - but I would certainly put him at the top end of desired players.

Interesting you say that, because I have to say I'm not totally convinced he will be.

To be doing that well at his age shows he has talent, but against the very best I don't think he'll get the time on the ball he needs when in possession, and when running off it, his pace could be an issue.

Time will tell, he's certainly got plenty of talent, but I can't quite make my mind up about him - probably because he doesn't naturally fit into any modern player archetype, so more difficult for me to make a direct comparison.

I think this link feels unlikely though and if I were him I'd stay in Italy a little longer

I think he is more fast and direct than he looks, he appears to labour when he is actually gliding, a bit like Kaka. But I do agree he is best to stay in Italy for now whilst he develops, I'm not convinced even Pirlo would have flourished in the modern prem. I think Zaniolo has the potential to be truly world class though.

A lot of my Italian friends rate him as one of the best young players coming through for the national team. Finding it odd to see such a negative reaction.

it happens on here all the time, no one wants ceballos or zaniolo but everyone want lo celso. If I had to pick who will be the best in their prime I don't think it will be lo celso.

It looks like Lo Celso is a replacement for Eriksen should he leave. I also think that one of Zaniolo or Ceballos would be an additional AM. Its possible that one of Zaniolo or Ceballos would come in any case,Eriksen or no Eriksen and that Lo Celso is purly coming after the Eriksen situation is sorted.
Havent seen much of either Z or C but from what Ive seen I like Zaniolo the way he takes a game on

Ron i’m conflicted now. I’ve just watched a YouTube video of Paulinho playing for Corinthians and he looks to have real world class potential. Possibly a Brazilian Frank Lampard. I’m thinking we should sign him instead of Zaniolo and Lo Celso?

Paulinho has silky skills and showed some with us but generally had little bite.He for sure is not suited for the PL. There are players that dont make it in England as you know. Its not about You Tube thought I guess you spend all your making hours when not working of watching these European games but fo me I look for clues in what I see in the odd game and clips. I remember watching clips of Sandro before we bought him.His tough tackling I noticed then or clips of Davinson Sanchez and his slides, but if professional scouts and managers what full games of players, they are still not 100% right.
Maybe the community here are more seasoned and they have seen full games of every player, they too can make mistakes.
I like what Ive seen in Zaniolo and Olmo. Your judgement on what I watch is not the critical point, the critical point is when they actually come to the PL and see how they do,and maybe thats what you wait for

Has there been any strong English media links? Seem to be more and more Italian and foreign popping up linking him with us and Juve. Possibly his agent trying to push Juve by using us?

https://www.alfredopedulla.com/il-r...-petrachi-e-lattesa-tottenham-mentre-la-juve/

(apologies for Google Translate errors)

The background: Zaniolo between the words of Petrachi and the waiting Tottenham. While Juve ...

We have taken note of the words of Petrachi that on Zaniolo said "we have not put it up for sale". Adding then "that anything can happen on the market". We reiterate what was said yesterday morning: Tottenham is entering the order of ideas to take Zaniolo and has received the yes of the entourage of the midfielder. The class of '99 will never ask to be sold, but if Rome opened it would like a lot the London solution. Among other things, Tottenham offers him at least 3.5 million per season, while with Rome there has not yet been renewal. It is a situation linked to defender Alderweireld, Tottenham would be willing to add a rich balance of 27 million. Juve? He has always appreciated Zaniolo, it is only a question of whether in the next few hours he will make the moves that Tottenham has already made. Waiting for the last decisions of Rome.

Basically doubling down on what was reported yesterday. We want him, he now wants us too.

Roma believe they are close to a breakthrough in their bid for a cash-plus-player deal to land Tottenham ’s Toby Alderweireld.

The Italians have made the Belgian defender a top target for this window but can’t afford to trigger his £25million release clause outright.

Spurs, however, are keen on 20-year-old attacking midfielder Nicolo Zaniolo and with the player angling for a pay rise at his club, the north Londoners believe it could work to their advantage.

Sporting director Gianluca Petrachi is understood to have told Zaniolo to prove he is worthy of a better pay packet on the field.
Zaniolo scored six goals last season with only one coming after February.

He's obviously not similar to Ceballos so perhaps if he is the alternative then we'd be looking to play him at number 10 with Lo Celso operating in a more withdrawn role.

It would still fit into my theory of us looking to playing 4-3-1-2.

Darren Lewis the journo too, gives it a lot more credibility than if it were any random mirror journo., I don't think it's a coincidence that talk of NZ has heated up since the news Madrid weren't budging on the Ceballos no-option-to-buy clause.
