I think it's important to have some sort of opening ceremony, to not acknowledge that this is the start of something new would be strange I think. Getting Stacey Solomon to sing wouldn't be that impressive but it's not a negative either. I imagine/hope that any singing would be along the lines of Glory Glory Tottenham Hotspur or When the Spurs go marching in.

I mean, it massively is a huge negative and will see the piss ripped out of us for years because of it. Not to mention who the fuck wants to see some XFactor reject singing at the opening of the new stadium?

Just put a cool video up, get some legends in for a clap and be done with it like the Finale at the Lane.

Fucking Stacey Solomon HAS to be a joke. It has to be.

The hipster comment was more a beavertown thing. Far too much hype surrounding it. Be glad when the hype dies down and we’re left with a football stadium.

I'd not tried it before the familiarisation day but it was legitimately quite nice. Also a good way to get trollied quickly without paying over the odds before a midweek game :ROFLMAO:

We literally hired the Go Compare man. I know he is actually a Spurs fan but still.

Ok yeah so that bit was awful but just skip the singing idea altogether. Or at least get the fucking crowd to sing instead.

Think they need 25000 even though some figures quote 30000, tickets still only on sale to members so would assume that the 25000 has been achieved otherwise surely it would have gone general, have they got enough pies ? Pie & a Pint a Fiver sounds good , should do it every game . I hope Parrot is fit & playing , he was injured for the EUFA youth league. U18's I think unbeaten this season so well worth attending and Poch at half time , he might say so looking forward to next season in our new stadium.
He had to pull out of the Ireland U21 squad injured - apparently he'd broken a couple of toes a few weeks back and hasn't fully recovered. So doubt we'll be seeing him, they surely wouldn't be impressed and it'd be dumb for him to annoy them when he's in that squad so young already.

What makes it worse is she’s married to a massive gunner. Bizarre call never even heard she’s a fan.

That's a shame then if Parrot still injured , with Poch there maybe his son will get a game.

I'm no fan of Hipsters. But have you tried Beavertown Neck Oil? It's actually a nice drink. Bit like Punk IPA only less likely to leave you blind and choking on your own vomit.

Little Mix did NFL at Wembley a few years ago. Got booed by 85,000 grown men mind

I'd smash em. All apart from the one that looks like E.T.

I don’t know whether to laugh or cry at the thought of Stacey Solomon belting out those songs.

I’m not going to lose any sleep over it, but it’s pretty lame. Let’s face it, if this was any of our rivals opening their stadium like that we’d be ripping the piss for weeks.

I don't get the abuse that the beavertown drinks get, it's just a different type of beer that has gotten more popular over the last few years, if people are kicking up a stink with something as trivial as this then they're doing pretty well to be honest.

I thought you'd be past that sort of thing by now. If you're constantly worried about having people take the piss you're going to be constantly annoyed because they're always going to attempt to find something to take the piss. The only thing that matters is what you think, not what some prat online wants you to think. The only time it'd matter is if say Chelsea opened a new stadium with someone decent performing and painted a comparison.

It's not a negative in itself, is it? It's not a positive but it's not a negative either, it's not like we're booking Gary Glitter

And what is wrong with Gary Glitter?

We literally hired the Go Compare man. I know he is actually a Spurs fan but still.

But he didn't do it dressed as the Go Compare guy, so he wasn't as instantly recognisable.

Stacey Solomon though... I'm not sure we could go much lower. She hasn't been relevant as a singer in 5+ years, in fact she hasn't released a single since Christmas 2011.

Stacey Solomon banging out "you got more rabbit than Sainsburys" is the perfect way to open the stadium

This is from our Head of Business Development. Not sure I like his description of us in is sales pitch...I would have preferred owners

Aidan Mullally, Tottenham’s head of business development, discussed the arena at a panel at Advertising Week Europe, saying: “Over the past three to four years, I think this has been, quite frankly, the most followed stadium in the world.

“When people come [to the first test event] on Sunday, I think they will be truly amazed by how magnificent the stadium is.

“It is an NFL stadium and that’s the key message. From the very start during the design phase, we have had the NFL in mind. The anchor tenant is Tottenham Hotspur, but this is designed to be a permanent home for the NFL outside the US.
“This building will provide brand exposure globally, both with the Premier League but by also pointing deep into key regions and key cities in the US as well.”
And though Mullally refused to confirm Spurs’ desire to one day host the Super Bowl – the NFL’s flagship fixture – it is understood Tottenham wish to do just that.
Mullally said on the subject of the stadium hosting high-profile events such as the Super Bowl: “It is unbelievably complicated, but this [stadium] is designed with one purpose in mind, which is to deliver unbelievably good quality events, so we don’t want our venue holding back and decisions"
