What are the cl rules for selling beer at the ground? Could the bars sell after the game?
Not sure mate, but I think the appeal to stick around for drinks/food after the game would be much stronger on a Saturday afternoon than at 10pm on a weekday night. Especially if that could be combined with some sort of legends Q&A in the South stand or whatever else the club might be planning.

I would still love us to get in there as soon as humanly possible, but a weekend game would allow us to show up early doors and spend the whole day taking in the opening day fun rather than rushing from work and then having to rush home again.

I wonder if there are plans to open up the South stand area to watch our away games that are on TV? Would be much cooler than watching it in the pub.

From N17 Bishop on ssc who will be working in stadium

Touch base day really with your.

All I can really say is the testing is all positive so far. 10 days in and little to no faults. 10 more days to go and then if all is as is now, test events will be announced.

Got a look at the northern end too, Home and away. Not sure if it’s been open to visitors yet.

Same standards all the way round.

Slightly diff turnstiles. I’m not going to post pics but the are very similar to airport biometric passport gates. Wether they’ll hold the average rowdy Millwall fan I don’t know.

Saw the HP SERVER room which gave me a twitch being a techy. A nice touch is it’s in complete view of the GA area (like the beaver town equipment) so you can see what’s running the ship.

Some serious money has been spent in there. Again got pics but hesitant to post just yet. Gonna ask permission first.

Away section mood lighting is there so will be customised according to visiting teams colours. A nice touch here is that idea follows through to hospitality.
They will be shipping in drink and food from local area of visiting club to sell to them.
So Newcastle the area will be black and white and the bar will serve boddintons as well as fried mars bars

ok not fried mars bar but you get the drift.

Those food and drinks prices are locked in. They are obliged to retain 15k for as long as possible to help traffic flow so after game entertainment will be decent.

Expect a lot more activities in concourses after games including legends and mascots meeting and greeting GA guests.

It will basically become one big massive bar after games (I suppose a bit like what box park is for Wembley now).

A fair few new tit bits to add later and shots from inside the bowl since we have been starved recently.
Does that mean West Ham away support will be treated to claret and blue lighting, Stone Island pop-up shop and reverse binoculars that make the pitch look as distant as in another postcode?

If it is true that we are 10 days into a 20 day testing period for the revamped alarm system, that would throw rather a lot of light on why it has taken so long to rectify. As I wrote t’other day, it’s nothing like an old fashioned fire alarm.

Also included will be pop up caravans, lucky heather, pegs and tea towels so as to make them feel at home.

So does us getting in this season completely hinge on Millwall beating Brighton then?

A scenario like that being make or break for the club I find highly doubtful in all honesty. I'd be astounded if a game involving two teams in the FA Cup acts as a deal breaker for us to move in.

It might prolong our moving in date based on playing the actual fixture on one day to another but to prevent us from moving in I highly doubt it

So this talk that we need 5 premier games or stay at Wembley is only preferable? Doing my best to make sense of it all! Edit - read back and does say the FA would 'prefer'

Unless there's a law that requires us to play X amount of games at home in a Premier League season I don't think the FA has a leg to stand on.

Sorry but if it's a toss up between the FA preferring us to play at least 5 games at home or the expense of Wembley on and off the pitch having a direct impact on Spurs, the FA have no chance. No way Levy will agree to that if the stadium gets its required certificates and sign offs

If we're set to move in for the Brighton game that can only be good news. Even if they get through in the FA Cup it means the stadium is ready in April. It will mean we still will have Brighton at home after that date so I see no reason why it would prevent us opening. I guess it all comes down to whether we will open at the weekend or midweek. Either way there will still be enough games left to make it worth opening this season.

Not too sure how I feel about the opposing team having such nice hospitality. It certainly shows class from our perspective but maybe too nice on our opponents. I kind of want us to give them a dark corridor with graffiti all over the walls to walk through. The away end toilets should have a hole in the ground to piss in and one of them weird toilet guys hanging around to make them feel awkward. The away dressing room should just be one long wooden bench and a blackboard.

it's a nice touch but the cynic in me doesn't want the away fans to feel at home. I don't want to inspire them to sing louder I want them to feel intimidated and scared.

Do what Fiorentina did to us and turn off the lights in the bogs for evening games....

Great news from Dan KP. Fingers crossed for a Millwall win.

Tottenham are hoping to take a significant step towards opening their new stadium this season, with planning under way for test events on March 16 and 23.

The stadium must host two successful test events, with increasing levels of capacity, in order to earn a safety certificate from the FA.
Spurs have no fixtures between March 9-31 after Crystal Palace’s progress in the FA Cup forced a postponement of their meeting on March 17, and they are exploring the possibility of holding the events — likely to include an academy fixture — on consecutive Saturdays next month.

If they are a success, Spurs would be in a position to open the stadium with a competitive fixture, with the earliest possible date now the visit of Brighton on April 6.

However, that game will also be rearranged if Brighton beat Millwall to reach the FA Cup semi-finals, leaving the home game against Huddersfield, scheduled for April 13, as the most likely opener. Standard Sport understands the Premier League would prefer the club to play their final five games at the new stadium or remain at Wembley until the end of the campaign, leaving them pushing hard to move in time for Brighton.

The first test event will likely have a capacity of 20,000-30,000 and could be an open training session on March 16, while the second event a week later would need to be at close to the ground’s full capacity of 62,062.

Spurs’s initial plan for the second test event last summer was to stage a legends match against Bayern Munich but they may decide on a more low-key academy fixture this time, after faults with the critical safety systems delayed the £1billion project since September. In December, Spurs held an orientation day for 6,000 season-ticket holders in the South Stand and at the start of this month they tested the ticketing systems when nearly 1,000 fans were invited to watch the Super Bowl in the East Stand.

The club’s hopes of playing Champions League football in their new home this season could rest on the draw for the quarter-finals — assuming they do not squander a 3-0 lead over Borussia Dortmund.

Uefa are open to Spurs moving back to N17 for the last eight but the first legs are scheduled to be played on April 9-10 and they are unlikely to be allowed to open the ground with such a high-profile fixture on a week night. That means that unless they can open the stadium against Brighton, they would most likely have to play a ‘home’ first leg at Wembley.

Spurs should be able to play a second leg at their new stadium, with the games due to take place on April 16-17, a few days after Huddersfield’s visit

As you say, it's class. And that's what separates us from everyone else! So long as we're not being too accomodating with the opposition teams, then I'm fine with it.

Although I’d like to be wrong it’s hard to see an evening game being 1st game. Brighton ticks all the boxes. Winnable game with relatively calm fans and hughton connection be perfect. Just have to hope Millwall do the business.
