I'm sure they've done their research on expanding it. Personally would like extra capacity possible in the future but I imagine get it through planning would be difficult regardless

Club know full well it's not going to be this season yet they are happy to hold onto our money. It's an utter disgrace.

All things point to not being open until next season , still interior parts that are not ready. Problem is that having to refund all the money in one go to all ST holders may well put the club into severe financial difficulty. Would you prefer the club to go into financial difficulty or receive part refunds as we go game by game . I for one am happy to allow my club an interest free loan while we go through this very difficult period.

It’s not just the fire alarm system that is holding the stadium up, as you say they could have sorted out the safety issues with the fire alarm 3 times over by now.
I work there on and off up till August and at that point the build was still some way off being ready to open in many aspects without taking in consideration of a fire alarm system

Would like to know why you disagree bulletspurs? Have you ever been to the new stadium?
Do you know much about construction?

Scary start to the weekend knowing you walk amongst us.

Looks incredible

Top , top players will be gracing it - anything else make no logical sense.

You don’t build that and put average players in it - for a start doesn’t ft business case.

West Ham will never go to 66k it was just PR. Would involve a £10-15m spend to update facilities (toilets etc) to get a license.

I know nothing about fire systems and appreciate Stacey info. But he does make it sound like some NASA installation. Can it really be that complex. They are fitted in every single major build in this country it’s not like we are doing something groundbreaking.

I’m no expert either, but isn’t it possible that being the first major build of this type since the post-Grenfel tightening of regulations may well have had an impact?

Presumably the contracts were all completed before the tha changed, which can’t hsve been fun.

If that is all true its beyond incompetance and closer to industrial sabotage.
The guys, or some of them, installing it would know if they were using the wrong cable or there weren't enough devices.
As he said 'You dont fanny around with a fire alarm system.'
I cannot believe how anyone could possibly make such a cataclysmic fuck up of something that is A) so important, and B) relatively simple.
Its a fire alarm system not a fkin mission to Mars!

That's why I doubt that it's simply "the wrong cable".

I used to have one of these when I was a kid:

Whenever I fell over them handlebars that gear stick used to turn that into a vicious cycle :cautious:

Bet it was orange...

 Nope. Definitely a bike.

One other thing to bear in mind, always, is that Twitter at its very soul is a very public tool for self promotion.

The intention for sharing ‘information’ is rarely clear on there.

I never said it was simply the wrong cable and neither did the op. And theres no such thing as simply given the amount of cable used.
However a fire alarm system is a relatively simple system no matter how flash the control system is. If the new super duper state of the art proto type flux capacitor warp drive alarm panel doesnt fkin work then just hook up a tried and tested one that bloody does.
It shouldnt take long to sort that out IF the cables and detectors are sorted which by now they must be.
One man and his dog could have fkin installed a working alarm system by now!
Unless the dog was a closet gooner.
As I said incompetence doesnt really do it justice.
Sick of it.
