As I understand it, there is a mixture of sabotage from guys working on site who support other teams, and also total incompetence during installation. This isn't third hand news from an installer or a friend of a friend, its from Mace themselves.

When and where have Mace made this statement ?

2000+ guys on site, you can't vet them and there won't be CCTV on site internally that is. By the time this stuff is being discovered its already covered up in part and no one has checked the work beforehand, which I'm not sure I can ever recollect this kind of thing being checked before it gets covered up.
But you can round it down to who's working where and when and on what.. At each given mark in works the work done would need to be checked and snagged and signed off..i was on quite a big site last year where thieving was the problem but by working back it was soon found who was responsible.

We’ve head both things so many times that I’m starting to think it’s both these things too. Has to be.

Just received this from the club, not sure if this could be a test event, assume not..
“Dear Executive Member,

We are delighted to offer you an opportunity to attend an exclusive live screening of Super Bowl LIII between the LA Rams and New England Patriots at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium on Sunday 3 February.

The event will take place within our NFL Tunnel Club, the first of its kind within the UK, which is fitted with a glass wall that allows you to see the players move between the locker room and field on a game day. This awesome American-style sports bar, nestled under the East Stand and split over two levels will offer a fantastic atmosphere for the match.

On the night, guests will be able to enjoy all of the action from Super Bowl LIII on multiple screens within this vibrant space. You will also be able to purchase a variety of food and drink options, including American fan favourites. Please note alcohol will be served until 12.30am. Following this, hot and soft drinks will be available with complimentary bar snacks.

In addition to the live screening, guests will be able to step out into the stadium bowl to take in the breathtaking view that fans will enjoy on matchdays.

The event will start from 9.30pm (kick-off is scheduled for 11.30pm) and will end following the presentation of the Vince Lombardi trophy.”

Incompetence and unskilled labour doing skilled work is nothing new in the deregulated building industry of today..
Skilled labour ain't cheap.. Cheap labour ain't skilled.

At least that means the NFL Tunnel Club is done & ready for use , what we need now is photos of a finished Stratus West & East which might mean it's almost ready.

Sorry I don't understand how the stadium can be used for anything if it is dangerous in terms of fire safety etc. Can anyone explain?

It's obviously not as bad as some are making out....or at least, it isn't anymore.

Having a few hundred people in a confined section of the stadium is much much different to having 62,000 in the whole thing. They've already had 3,000 in there for the familiarisation event and can obviously legally do so with stewards/fire marshalls etc.

Still doesn't make sense if the ground is unsafe. Following Grenfell and the failure of inadequate materials, poor workmanship etc creating a fire which the fire brigade said was beyond anything they imagined I don't see how a stadium that has been ... according to this thread ... sabotaged, have inadequate non functioning systems and be in such a mess that it will take many more months to sort out even the wiring can be safe for any event? It does not add up

I can understand incompetence. We’ve all worked with idiots. But how were the wrong materials even available in the first place? And was there no supervision of any sort? It’s layer upon layer of idiots.

Less people are easier to evacuate, it wouldn't be happening if it was any kind of risk for the numbers mentioned.

I think the materials H&S for our stadium will be at a very different level to what was in place for Grenfell. It's not even a comparison worth making.

If there are a few hundred people in a specific section of the stadium it's far easier to evacuate and account for them than if the stadium was full of fans walking around different sections. There have been multiple familiarisation events already which have been signed off by the appropriate people so no need for adding things up.

You'd think someone would have seen SOMETHING. Or some guy would have blabbed to his friends about how he was the one that did it and it's , etc, and that could be investigated.

I had thought there'd have been security cameras on site, however.

There are, they just aren’t wired up right :ROFLMAO:

Good luck to the privileged few that get to watch the Super Bowl. But it doesn’t sit right with me 42k have bought a season ticket to watch PL football. The stadium situation is a complete shambles yet they are inviting a very wealthy few to watch NFL.

Just as they invited 6000 normal fans for the south stand.
