It’s not that I don’t want new fans with new trends, it’s that I want those new fans value what happens on the pitch above all else when they’re there.
Speaking from my own experience but it's really hard to feel what you feel without having attended a game or two first. I went from Sweden with a friend of mine who's got almost zero interest in football and know almost nothing about it but after visiting WHL and seeing Spurs v Chelsea, he actually became a bit of a closet fan. Not hardcore by any means but he really enjoyed the experience and has started to talk positively about Spurs and his trip when asked about football.
If you close the door to tourists "who don't care", the influx of new fans would drastically decrease. I want everyone to see what a fantastic club we are and I have no issue at all with casual fans visiting our games, especially children and people from abroad.
