Think we need a new scouting thread as the old thread is dead and buried.

As we've seen over the course of the season so far, our squad is in need of reinforcements and obviously we won't be able to fill all the gaps in the squad during the wts.

With an eye towards the summer I'd like this thread to be about any player(s) you fancy and that we should follow throughout the season.

This thread is open to any sort regardless of feasibility, so lets keep it light and fun.

I'd get started by stating at least one player in a postion of need or potential need depending on sales:

GK
Runnar Alex Runnarsson (Dijon) 1995/186 He's an athletic shot stopping GK, Iceland's future #1. He's got a lot of expierence playing out from the back for a wide open Nordsjaelland.

LCB
Jhon Lucumi (Genk) 1998/188 Left footed Colombian, could have an excellent report with our young South American CBs. It's his first season in Europe and Genk is top of the league with a very good defensive record. Unfortunately he's out injured till December, but he's been getting good reviews, while going under the radar outside of Belgium.

Also a fan of Svetozar Markovic of Partizan. He's already played a full season despite only being 18. And you never go wrong buying a Serbian defender.

DM
Bastien Toma (Sion) 1999/174 Little nippy DM type who has a great eye for a pass.

CM
Exequiel Palacios (River Plate) 1998/178 All around excellent midfielder, gonna right to the top in a big way.

AM (if Eriksen leaves this summer, hopefully wont be an issue)
Hannes Wolf (RB Salzburg) 1999/179 Has great technic and vision. He's gonna be Europe's next great #10.

CF(Backup for Kane)
Breel Embolo (Schalke) 1997/181
Struggled at Schalke for form and fitness, still really young and naturally gifted. Can cover multiple positions and could get him for a bargain.

LB
Brian Curfe (Velez Sarsfield) 1996/179 Quick, powerful, scores some absolute thunderbastards. Dont know much about his defending, but he's an Argie so he's got to be pest.

There's my list of players. Of course as you can tell I like to follow the development of young players, and I fully recognize that we couldnt possible bed in all of these players, but I'd be absolutely chuffed if we took a punt on one or two of these guys. Anyways share anybody you'd like to see spurs take a run at in the summer. And let me know if you have any other target who do better than any that I suggested. Cheers (y)

Exequiel Palacios looks like real madrid's interest in him is serious but here's a vid of him anyways.

This is the guy we should be in for whether or not Eriksen bails for Barca. Before he becomes too pricey.

doubt this thread would last in there long as we are approaching the transfer forum, but always thought the general football forum was mainly for non Spurs stuff:whistle:

don't use this forum that often, so excuse me and accept my apologies if I'm wrong

i obviously dont know what i'm doing.

But this thread doesnt have to have a spurs specific lense, but just any general young player that anybody thinks will have a notable career and share their excitement in.

No need to apologise, in fact I want to thank you for the advice.

This helps make sense of a lot of things.
lol I'm sorry that I want to educate myself about the next exciting crop of footballers, so if we happen to be linked with them, or if they come to the prem in some capacity. I wont be an ignorant twat. Are all these lads going to have sparkling careers no, probably the majority of them are going to underwhelm, but it's all for good fun. You don't have to be a sniveriling old prude to enjoy football.

Also I'd feel if we meet in person we wouldn't be that dissimilar, we both got strong opinions and I respect that about you.

Wesley Moraes is a striker for Club Brugge we've apparently scouted. He's 21 and from Brazil. Scored a really nice goal against Monaco on Tuesday. I think he's scored something like 10 goals in 18 games for them this season. He's a freakin tank, his mobility and short area quickness would be a concern for me.

Sander Berge is a player who is really intriguing to me given his likely price tag, potential ability and just overall the type of player we would likely be after. Looks to be solid defensively in winning the ball back, he's huge at 6'5" so should be a weapon on set pieces and helpful to defend them as well. From this video you can see he is good on the ball dribbling and also a very capable passer, looking for through balls and able to spread the ball long to the wide men. I've seen Genk fans comment on how he seamlessly took over for Ndidi, now of Leicester, without the team missing a beat.

Great shout, Club Brugge have a wealth of young talent to keep an eye on. Wesley's actually to me moved better than what I remembered. Wesley's been around for a while now and he's always kind of reminded me of Lukauku for some reason. I dont know if thats good or bad thing. Either way we just need to brave and take a punt on a strong mobile striker this summer. There's plenty of them out there.

Know I get the hype, I've been looking at Kante type Dms, but this guy is a dream no matter your style.

I think he fits the bill of a lot of what people are looking for in a younger player to develop behind Kane. If we can't buy players from Lyon, Monaco, Leverkusen, etc. we need to find them before they get there. This guy, Berge, Palacios are prime candidates of that.

I love how much you get it. Do you know of any young LB out there that catch youre eye. I think Tiereny is going to be overvalued.

@Ghost Hardware would probably be the better man to ask. He seems to have a really strong grip on the Spanish league.

Celtic sold Dembele in the summer for around 20mil to Lyon, maybe Tierney goes for a bit more than that. 25mil maybe? That's not far off from what we spent on Serge.

25mil would be good business, I'm a little skeptical whether we could get him at that price.

Shopping in the Iberian penisula hasn't been the kindest to us, so I dont follow either league closely at all. Plus they have those dreaded astronomical release clauses. It's why I doubt we'd bring in any LB from the portugese league that have been suggested in the WT thread.

Well last time we went after a fullback in Portugal Levy got spooked by something, so likely would happen again.

Re Spanish left backs. I guess the most well known of the younger lot is Jose Gaya (23), but getting him would be hard. And im not sure he has developed as much as many in Spain hoped he would. Beyond that, his understudy at Valencia Toni Lato (20) is the youth prospect, hes in the Spanish U21 team and had one start this season. I haven't seen much of him but he impressed and have read good reports. Valencia have a host of very exciting youth prospect. Keep an eye out RW Ferren Torres (18) who came on in their 3-1 CL win against Young Boys, hes probably their biggest youth prospect, if you consider Soler already established. Hes been getting minutes in the league and will no doubt take over from Soler when he eventually goes for the big bucks. Beyond that, one can only really look at Espanoyl's Aaron Martin who's 21. He already has 2 assists i think this season (on loan at Mainz). As for Espanyol, i mentioned to you before, they have been surprising many this season and i already suggest we look at his defensive compatriot Hermoso as a Jan understudy. There may well be others, but those are the ones that spring to mind.

EDIT...

Just to add, if we end up doing business with RM at any point, aside from Cabellos, we should also try and nick Theo Hernandez. He was taken with much fanfare (depending on which team you support) from Atleti but has hardly had a look in. He was shipped out on loan to Sociedad this season. It seems they prefer Sergio Reguilon as Marcelo's understudy. This might all change when the new manager comes in. But if we could somehow get him next summer that would be a fantastic move.

What's Martin's deal with Mainz, is that transfer going to be made permanant? I thought I read somewhere, He's going for €10 mill plus a three mill clause.
