I assume Ben's ITK appeared before the ThisIsLondon item.
I would imagine the story was written a little while before it was published, if he knows anyone connected with the paper then he could've found out before it was published i guess

Reuters used to be good for getting scoops, it sometimes ran some odd stories (i was never in banking or anything like that, i used to do IT for Deutsche Bank and we had a Reuters terminal running about every 20 feet)

Based on past stuff that BEN has said it's more likely that the paper have taken it off the messageboard than the other way round. I know that in terms of contacts within the club then BEN is far ahead of the London Paper and the London Lite (and of course the Evening Standard )

Either way looks like PK is on his way.

If Kelmsley were to be involved in a consortium's takeover of the company then it would be far easier and "proper" to do this when he was not a current Director.

I'm sure that's so. Just me being naughty.

But after BEN's 'revelation' that Jol had been talking to the Barcodes (after 'Wan Danny Thomas' had told us we'd be hearing this) does make me wonder if what he's told is what parties within the club want us to hear.

I'm sure there's an element of that. The club aren't stupid and they know that stuff filters through on the messageboard.

However I'm not sure if they actually give a rat's ass what the fans think so not sure if they'd really put that much effort into deceiving us. Any misdirection they enter into is more likely to be for financial aims than keeping the fans happy.

Someone clearly did after 'Wan Danny Thomas' told us we'd hear stuff about Jol that would change our opinion of him, because the very next day BEN and Dragon1 (arguably the most trusted ITKs) posted their stories about Jol talking to Newcastle and wanting to flog Berby. It's quite amazing that this never emerged before.

Someone or a faction within the club clearly wanted to discredit Jol, and who better to do this than two trusted ITKs? Unfortunately, they underestimated just what a cynical bunch of buggers most of us are.

I dunno. I think you may be giving Levy and co too much credit in saying they care what we think. If they want Jol gone he'll go no matter how many people sing 'I love Martin Jol' at the game before.

I think this is particularly the case at the moment where they have a huge season ticket waiting list so don't need to worry about crowd numbers and where they want to sell (we think) so there only concern is increasing the value of the club.

Again this isn't something anyone knows but that's my view of the current board (and probably most boards in the premiership).

Nevertheless, there was something worrying about 'Wan Danny Thomas's' responses to BOF's post; he didn't come across as an ordinary Joe Bloke Jol-basher to me.

You're right, the board will do what it pleases whatever we think, but Jol is arguably the most popular manager since Keith and a little bit of image-tarnishing won't do any harm.

Doesn't really deserve a new thread so I'll just point out that BEN has said on FTL that Kelmsley is leaving the club and won't be buying it. Announced tomorrow apparently.

Confirmed by BBC - Club have announced it to the stock exchange
