Thought the couple of bits of play I saw from Semedo in this evening's game against switzerland he looked fairly decent.

Anyone see the whole game (and form an opinion)?

I watched the game. but apart from one good pass he didn't really impress me. There's was nothing to put me off either to be fair.

I've been quite impressed with Kevin Mbabu, the Swiss right back, on the couple of occasions I've seen them play, but I doubt he's good enough for us.

It's going to be difficult, although not impossible, getting in a new decent right-back.

In the grand scheme of the footballing hierarchy, Aurier and Trippier are good players, so only bringing in genuine quality will be an improvement on them. And that, of course, means either getting a bargain through good scouting or spending a wedge of cash to pick up a top-drawer player.

We don't want another transfer like Aurier; a decent enough player, but not good enough to replace Walker.

Tbh, all roads lead back to AWB and his £60m (or thereabouts) price-tag

We should be able to improve on those two without spending £60M. To be honest I still don't know how good Aurier is. Sometimes he looks great, but other times he really worries me. It's a shame the injuries have had such an impact this season.

Agree with Aurier re. injuries; the guy has barely played for us over the last 2 seasons:

And we haven't been the most settled team during that period either, so you never know he might come good in the end

He might come good if he can get a run in the team. His injuries haven't helped Trippier either. The guy probably needed a break at some point this season. Hopefully Aurier will have a decent tournament at the Africa Cup of Nations and come back stronger for next season.

There are other good players out there. The other one I really liked when we were linked was Benjamin Henrichs but he went to Monaco. The thing with him was that he was equally happy on the left or the right and could also do a job in midfield. Surprised we didn't go for him. I'm sure we could tempt him if we wanted though.

Didn't Real Madrid just sign Eder Militao? Can we put a cheeky bid in for Alvaro Odriozola? Although Klostermann at Redbull would be my first preference.
