Tottenham Hotspur manager Mauricio Pochettino has dealt admirably with the various curve balls launched his way since the end of last season — so well in fact that his side have enjoyed their best start to a Premier League campaign.

“I don’t know, many things that happened in summer, many things that make myself not in my best mood or humour.”

Hmmmm.

I doubt Poch would be moaning if he had been given the £200m Mourinhos had over the past two seasons. Bit unfair to put them in the same boat!
The fact is he's having a bit of a moan. We were all singing his praises earlier in the season because he wasn't. Only fair imo. Love the guy - just feels like he's being a bit too grumpy at the moment.

Can't see anything wrong with what he's said. Results wise it has been a great start to the season but we'd all be naive not to realise that it's papering over the cracks a bit. The transfer market was massively frustrating and the stadium delay has been frustrating (although I still reckon that going with an opening date at the beginning of the season was extremely optimistic).

Poch mood seems to be the same as the fans really. Think we’re all just waiting for it to click and it hasn’t quite happened yet. Not often we’ve needed to fear any team(under Poch) but I am quite fearful of tonight’s game hopefully we’ll click and show what we are capable of.

The caveat to 'our best PL start' is that we've had a load of easy games, some of which we only just managed to bag the points. Anybody half decent has given us problems. Sounds like Poch is frustrated enough now to almost say how dreadful our dealings were in the Summer.

Yup. It's the same as we're feeling I think.

I can't help look at our side, and out competition, and feel that we're creaking at the seems.

My guess is that unless we have a productive Winter transfer window (including new contracts for Eriksen and Alli) he'll be gone in the near(ish) future - the summer maybe, depending on what happens at Real.

The disappointing bit is that the players we want may well just not be available in January.

I remain convinced there were affordable players available in the summer - we just had a total shocker and it seems likely it'll cost us

So he should be, i'd be pissed off with the current situation as well, if anything he's been too polite - this should have come out in the summer.

i dont think his having a moan, just saying things are tough, and expectations have risen he expects more, lets beyonest if he came out and said we are playing great you would be more pissed off.

Shame, but i think we could all see he's not been his happiest this season. When he's got the ump with the black suit on, it looks bad. He looks exasperated on the bench at times. Maybe we've risen too high too quickly and the pressures ramped up on him. I feel its going to be a tough week.

For me, it is not surprising what the quotes are because I saw this coming since August. But the puzzling bit is rather that he in fact says them so candidly. Pochettino, from what I understand of him, he almost never actually is candid with the press. Always a game of SOME sort, always some muddy waters. Then BANG! "No I'm not very happy". Brutal honesty. Wonder what he thinks he can achieve by this interview in October ...

Yeah, who knows but frustration must be building up and up and he's only human and needs to vent.

Of course, I am not criticising him for this. In fact, I'm not an English business owner, so I appreciate blunt honesty. I just think it is a strange move for him as a person. He rarely says the blunt thing to the press without assuming it will work to his advantage. This time, I can't see what that advantage would be. Unless he wants other football directors to know about his malcontent.

Oh no, I wasn't criticising your post whatsoever - I was just observing that he must be feeling the need to vent his frustrations even if it doesn't lead anywhere.

I see. Understood. Quite possible. Yet still strange though? Or, he is so so so frustrated he is barking mad and about tho chop Levy's head off. In which case, power to him I suppose.

Just thought that maybe he feels he can admit to frustration after the detailed update from the club on Friday. Levy pretty much said it was a difficult time for everyone at the club with a feeling of disappointment. So maybe Poch has some freedom to share his feelings and gain some empathy with fans without upsetting the boss
