Have you not watched any PL coverage since about 1960? Almost everyone on TV/the radio is an ex Liverpool player or Liverpool fan. Coverage of them is always nauseating. Even since Hansen and Lawro were moved on. Surprised you've only just noticed.

Yeah I know but I specifically meant this commentator, he seemed to have an unrestrained hard on tonight.

The ‘experts’ in the studio all thought Son dived...

A microcosm of what this show has become
I don't like the diving culture, but you could clearly see his foot being hooked from Maguire's tackle.. That is a a text book penalty. yet match of the day conclude that he dived?? WTF?

Bbc commentary makes nothing of sons pen then.... Such bollocks
I wonder if the production team caught wind of our fanbase's dissatisfaction with the ref because they did seem to highlight every slight decision that may have gone against Leicester.

Incredible wasn't it? Watching their package you'd think Leicester had been hard done with today :ROFLMAO:

Same ref that didn't give the pen in the Liverpool game when Mane just whipped Son's leg away - maybe he's got a problem with Asians?

There was no difference in the level of contact between the challenge on Son, which wasn't given as a foul, and the challenge by Jan on Maddison, which was given. That level of inconsistency in one game needs to be looked at by the authorities.

I was going to watch it but not sure if can be bothered now. If the pundits can't see what was happening in the first half (at least) then I'm afraid they shouldn't be on the programme talking about the game because they can't of watched it properly.

It wasn't so much the pundits as the highlights themselves. Multiple replays of Sánchez "holding" Evans at a corner and Skipp's "handball" in charging down the clearance that led to Eriksen's goal. On the other hand, no comment made on the non-fouls that lead to Maguire's header being tipped over and (I think) one of Barnes's chances.

I like JJ as a pundit but wtf was he on about. There’s two fouls, the contact with his shin and, more importantly, the hook/sweep of his foot. Stonewall pen. I didn’t watch the game live but listened on 5live and Sidwell and the commentator said it was a pen, tbf.

I've read and heard multiple ex pros and refs, who all say different things. Clattenburg says both dived, Dermot Gallagher via Sky Sports said Son's was a penalty, especially if you're giving the Maddison one.

However, the main takeaway is that both pens should have been given the same treatment. Either both were pens, or not.

Still, personally, don't believe Sonny deserved a booking for diving.

It was a pen. The thing is I haven’t heard anyone talking about his foot being sweeped they focus on the shin. If his foot wasn’t hooked I could maybe see it as s but more touch and go but I genuinely can’t see how anyone could say he dived there.

I think it's open to interpretation, but I agree that both penalties decisions should have been given the same treatment.

That's the clincher for me. Always thought he was one of the best refs around.

Thing that I noticed about MOTD2 more than anything else was that Aguero, having arrived in England only eight years ago, is still conducting his post-match interviews in Spanish.

Aguero spoke English in Sky's MOTM interview, didn't he? That was the one that was broadcast here in Norway, him and Sterling together both speaking English.

Weird if the beeb allowed him to do Spanish when he can speak English to other channels.

I don't blame him to be honest given how desperate everyone is to twist their words all the time. One misjudged choice of words or strange phrasing and all of a sudden the whole of Twitter is in meltdown. I'm sure he speaks excellent English but just chooses not to for interviews as a precaution.
