Surely the FA can't just do nothing here when it's clear from the video/audio that Dean has lied? The press shouldn't allow them to whitewash this.

I doubt we'll see anything different mate - the FA will stand by Mike Dean so long as the evidence doesn't become public knowledge.

If the press had evidence to the contrary which made Mike Dean 100% look like a liar and a tit - i'm sure they'd have pushed it by now. Could be wrong but i think this will become old news soon enough for most of the football world.

The FA are going to protect Dean come what may. The fact is that they need Referees so they're hardly going to hang him out to dry (more's the pity).

Also, it appears that Dean has mistaken ‘you know what you are’ with ‘what did you say’ or ‘you can’t say that’ seeing as that everyone who has seen the incident knows it was the latter that was said several times by Poch and Perez, which means his report is completely unreliable.

If he’s still sticking to ‘you know what you are’ then that means he’s left out a whole chunk of shit from the incident (which no doubt was written together with the assistant referees) which again means his version is unreliable.

Either way, his version of events is unreliable if he has failed to mention the ‘what did you say’ comments which meant he would’ve had to have said what he actually said to wind them up initially.

****.
they have just shown a clip on Sky and even though we heard him say ‘what did you say’, he definitely said the ‘you know what you are’ too. you can't hear it but even as a non lip reader you can make out he said the bolded.

lets all just hope it's the last we ever see of Dean

Is the FA kidding here releasing this out of nowhere? They are either remarkably stupid or what Mike Dean said is about to leak and they wanted to get out in front of it. I hope the club dont just leak what Dean said anymore and instead release it publicly with the clubs name attached. Confront the FA on this bullshit.

Which means that he’s left out the ‘you can’t say that’ part. Perez was shouting it so loudly that I heard it from my home in Essex. Yet it’s not mentioned in the report. (Unless it’s in a different report, I’ve only read the report from the evening standard).

I really hope your last sentence is true 🙏

Can't see how Dean can ever officiate a Spurs game again now.
Not while Poch is still in charge anyway. But let’s be honest, Dean isn’t professional enough to be reffing any games. I can understand why the FA might want to take a tough stance on this and protect a ref. At the end of the day, they have to set an example for players and coaches up and down the country, nothing bad is going to happen to a ref in the big leagues if a manager or player surrounds them etc. But that could get very intimidating at a tiny amateur match on some playing fields somewhere.
The FA need to protect the referees, however this whole respect initiative goes both ways, and when you have little napoleons like Mike Dean giving it the big I am it doesn’t help their cause. He’s clearly an antagonistic individual who loves to be in the limelight. It’s obvious he said something inflammatory to Poch and the coaches, and it’s pathetic that they have not addressed that.

The club should release what was said now, no leaks, an official club statement “in the interests of transparency.”

Nah. If it's something as was rumoured like 'that's your league title hopes gone' we'll look incredibly small time for releasing it and never live it down.

And what did Dean say? Conveniently left out by the FA. The lack of transparency is bullshit.
It's pretty obvious that what Pochettino said was in response to something Dean said. We won't get to know what that was though because the FA will wrap Dean up in security blanket. As I said earlier, they are desperately short of Refs (even the best ones are pretty useless) and won't allow anything damaging to happen to Dean for fear of a scandal.
