I love Holtby's enthusiasm and do hope he's given a fair crack of the whip under Mauricio.

Holtby is one of the few players out of the current batch at Spurs that look like coping with Tino's high tempo style. That coupled with the ability to unlock defences with his passing is a recipe for success. I hope he is given a chance.

Lots of mentions about our midfielders in the press but never Capoue? Considering he hardly played last year I'm surprised we've heard nothing ... Anyone in the know?

The agent's comments are in code, they don't say what they appear to say.

What's really happening here is that a journalist has asked the agent the usual auto-question whether Holtby will be leaving Tottenham, trying to drum up a quote that will be possible to distort or fabricate into a transfer story, and the agent has replied with the usual 'go away, hack' formula: 'Lewis is very happy at Tottenham', but with the 'new manager' frilly bits added on to fluff up the cliché.

And the headline that Holtby has a '"good feeling" about Pochettino' is a blatant misquote - the agent never said that, he said that he has a good feeling about Tottenham.

It's another bollocks non-story.

We haven't handled him well. Agreed he hasn't exactly done fantastic when played but hopefully he'll be given a long run in mid field, he's much better there than as a no 10.

...average player who says all the right things. Nice guy but doesn't have the ability to be world class.

Would very much like to be proved wrong but have always seen Lewis as a bit of a headless chicken. Lots of energy and enthusiasm but generally chasing the ball.

Where as Sandro could sometimes seem like he was putting in conservative effort comparatively and yet uncannily be in the right place at the right time and as such be more noticeably involved.

Not sure where I am going with this. Guess I'm trying to say that enthusiasm is no substitute for intuition and an ability to read the game.

Can't fault his attitude though and I am sure MoPo will give him every chance to show he is worthy of a starting place.

Of all our midfielders he is one of the best suited to play a pressing game. Could come on a bundle under a decent coach.

I think he's been rubbish for us, but for me, its a clean slate for everyone bar Rose, Dawson and Lennon.

I think I agree with all of that, except to add that he does have nice technique as well. Good first touch. Good left (and right) foot. Eye for a pass. But perhaps just lacks the touch of genius required to play in the hole; or the drive/strength to play in central midfield. So he gets caught a bit between the two roles.

Give him a season in Poch's system and many might well regard him as our most important CM. This lad has moxy and isn't at all unskilled.

I'm excited to see all of our squad under the guidance of a real system and direction for once. Our problem these last couple of yrs has not been a lack of talent.
