Making all the right noises .....and sounds like hes up for the fight and wants too be nos 1 !!
IMHO this can only push Hugo on either further ....knowing there is a good keeper waiting and fighting to get his spot.
Personally I think its a good sigining ...something we would have needed to do next summer if we didn't now as Brad will hang his boots up then ....and we need at least 2 decent keepers ...plus if Hugo got injured or decided he wants out .....for once we have seemed to see into the future and actually made the right decision with plenty of time on our hands.

Afew more now please DL ;-)

Apparently VDV was on the phone for 2/3 of the call, but then he had to sit down and let Jermaine Defoe finish it off

Great stuff to hear from Vorm but he's crazy if he thinks he can compete with Lloris for a starting spot.

A strange signing - I can only think that Lloris has indicated that he'll be off next summer at the latest.

Strange? Not really, it would be no surprise if some moneybags club comes in and pays silly money for one of the top 5 keepers in the world. Hugo would have given us a good run but if we're not in the CL or winning trophies he might be tempted to go somewhere where silverware is guaranteed. This avoids the possibility of us being left as Brad as our No1 keeper.

Good planning if you ask me.

If he ever shows any hint of wanting to be a coach, I'd like to have VDV back with us one day.

Agree - it is what I meant. It is only strange if we are naive enough to take Lloris signing a new contract as meaning he intends to stay a while.
