I've see many people saying we got lucky by winning those games with late goals, to an extent, I felt the same.

One thing is chipping away at my thoughts, though.

Winning one game by getting a ridiculously late winner could indeed be considered lucky. But is it really lucky when you do it multiple times?

Again, genuine question, not a dismissal of your response. (y)

I don't think the team WAS lucky to score those late goals. As you say, they worked hard for them. The football was mostly turd though, which shows how average many of our players are.

We should consider ourselves lucky that we got many points (that we maybe did not deserve) in that period, otherwise we would be in some proper shit right now.

Sorry but there is no chance any of the players were upset to see Harry back in the first team. They always speak so highly of him and understandably so. He is by far our most important player and his return should have created a lift among the players. Besides he's only one player and make no mistake Llorente will know when Kane is fit he starts anyway.

As I said. I wasn't saying that was the case. I was simply asking the question(s) to get a gist as to what people think has gone wrong since his return.

Agree completely, our footy has been (mostly) dogshit this season. As many have said, it really must be down to lack of rest over the summer etc. I can't think of a single other reason that Poch would stop implementing the rapid press that he/we were renowned for, other than him KNOWING that the players are simply to tired to carry it out, so he's attempted to come up with a way to 'get by' until the players can have a proper rest.

Not just the press, but the whole Pochettino-style is gone. As you say, we simply look like a team trying to get by.

I think the high press is what creates the Pochettino style. We also have had no choice but to rotate this season, and doubt double training has been implemented as much.

As I’ve mentioned a lot lately tiredness causes mistakes, and this season has seen us make us make a lot of mistakes that have lead to sloppy goals

I don't know or care why it is the case this season. Imo, playing without a specific style is a worry no matter what level of club it is.

A flashback to how we played 16/17. The one thing that has really changed is the quality of the fullbacks.

Massively- our choices for FB are fairly unremarkable. Rose just isn’t the player he was and we’ve never adequately replaced Walker. Aurier is too error prone, Trippier isn’t really a full back; he’s a wing back at a push or an old fashioned right midfielder in a 442. Davies is ok, but I wish we could get hold of a couple of quick, tenacious full backs who know how to defend too

Our old tactic revolved around having fullbacks able to get up and down the pitch quickly. Either we need new pacy fullbacks OR we need to change the tactics completely. It feels like we're stuck in between right now.

Works better when we play 3 at the back.

Vertonghen has been our best full back this season, done more in his couple of games there than the rest have done all season, says it all really.

I thought Refs were mic'd up? If so, id be really intrigued if this wasnt picked up or did Poch hear incorrectly but cant imagine Jesus also hearing incorrectly.

Something was definitely said and cant believe it hasnt come out. Maybe Poch's next book who knows.

Absolute horse shit from the FA. Everyone in football knows Mike Dean is a prat. At least this hopefully means he can't ref our games for the foreseeable future.
