So now we have a few articles saying Poch should stay...almost like word is out that he's not going to Man U so the papers need to pivot so they can claim they were correct all along.

Amazing to see the relationship between Poch and the players but Geoff Shreeves mentions United about 5 times in 50 seconds. Absolutely disgrace. They just won’t drop it.
Wow that's just a small snippet of the club that Poch is help building and the relationship within the squad. Amazing, I have supported spurs since 1990 and this time as a spurs fan is incredible. Im not sure we fully appreciate what we have here at this moment in time. What a class act our manager is compared to Klopp and Pep.

I'll only let it slide this time as we are up against them on Sky on Sunday. Of course they'll bring it up now more than ever. Why expect any different?

Shreeves is deffo trying to make a name for himself as a hard pressing journo.
Used to be funny match reporter, now he's got a turtleneck sweater.
He is almost as desperate as Neville for Poch to join United

DANIEL LEVY will not let Mauricio Pochettino join Manchester United — even for £50million.

The Tottenham chairman has made it clear to his board he plans to reject any Old Trafford approach at the end of the season.
Daniel Levy will block any move Manchester United make for Mauricio Pochettino
And that is even if they offer more than the value of Poch’s contract.

Levy has told friends he regards the club’s Argentinian boss so highly he cannot risk losing him.

United visit Spurs at Wembley tomorrow on the back of five straight wins, with interim boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer keen to succeed Jose Mourinhoon a permanent basis.
But Pochettino remains United’s No 1 choice — and while the Spurs chief claimed yesterday he is the only man in football who enjoys negotiating with tough cookie Levy, he will NOT be able to talk his way to Old Trafford.

EXCLUSIVE

Poch has four years left on a deal worth £34m.

And United are tempted to pay it in full, plus an additional £16m for the world’s most wanted football coach.
But Levy, who convinced Poch to sign a new contract last May, fully expects his manager to honour his agreement.
And he is even prepared to give Poch the last word on all transfers.
While United are desperate to land Pochettino in the summer, they have been compiling a shortlist of alternatives if they cannot convince him.
It is thought by some at Spurs that Levy might be more willing to talk if Real Madrid approach Poch and the manager indicated he wanted to go.
But the ailing Spanish giants are currently more likely to try to re-appoint Mourinho instead.
Pochettino, who does not have an agent, negotiated his current deal directly with Levy last spring.

Poch has built a superb Spurs team who currently sit third in the Premier League table despite disruption over their stadium
And Poch, 46, said: “For me it was not difficult — I think it was more difficult for him than me because I am the manager and he cannot upset me.
“If we are talking about extending a contract or giving me more money, you need to be careful.
“With agents, you can say anything that you want and the agent will manage the situation.
“But when you are talking directly to your manager, you need to be careful as one word can change the negotiation or change your mind.”

Love that Poch doesn't have an agent. Very confident and in control.

Fucking hell if Neil Ashton is writing something positive about Spurs it is either true, he's on the wind up, or the end of times is around the corner

I don’t want to believe him just because it isn’t a completely negative article.

The only way I think it’s true is because Levy hates Man Utd almost as much as he hates Chelsea. He has respect for Poch obviously but I think he would try everything to make it as terrible for both him and Man Utd if he wanted to go there. There’d be no love lost, Levy isn’t like that.

I'm cautiously optimistic with the poch situation. That being said it's not down to levy. You can't make a manager go and rot in the reserves like a winston bogarde.

Poch won't leave and I think United will end up looking embarrassed as they are faced with their current position as a club in relation to us.

Poch has invested too much of himself to walk away if there is still potential to grow here to go to a team that's finished below us 3 out of the last 4 years (including this year).
The stadium and increased revenue/profit should be enough for the next couple of seasons.
And after that it depends on the timescale for paying off the stadium and further revenue increase from improved commercial deals, redevelopment, event expansion etc.

Matt Hughes in the Times with an absolute bullshit article this morning coming across as ITK.

Saying Poch genuinely believes he can’t win major trophies at Spurs so is very tempted at revitalising a fallen giant at United and creating a dynasty.

Said he only signed a new contract in the summer to ensure his coaches got pay rises and it wasn’t a sign of his loyalty to Spurs.

Spurs accept Poch owes us nothing and won’t stand in his way of leaving and Levy will just want big money to let him go.

Moura and Sissoko were Levy signings not Poch.

I agree - to the extent that I don't even think they will even approach us for him and run the risk of being turned down.

Plenty of errors in the article too.

He mentions Poch left Espanyol for Southampton, made the decision on the toilet apparently. He left Espanyol in November - sacked or 'mutual consent' and joined Southampton in January. Then they talk about Spurs winning 3-1 at Old Trafford in August. It was 3-0. Small things but the entire piece lacks substance and they haven't even got basic facts right.

Well, of you want pointers to that article's level of research and honesty, it starts with an inaccuracy.

Hughes describes how hard Poch found out to leave Espanyol for Southampton. Well, he didn't leave Espanyol for Southampton. He left Espanyol by mutual agreement with the chairman with the club at the bottom of La Liga after 13 games and having had his players sold from under him. He has been out of a job for a little bit before he was approached by Southampton. He did agonise over the decision to leave Spain, but if Hughes can't even get that detail right...

Ah, you beat me to it whilst I was searching for evidence to back up what I thought!
