Not sure what he could say to stop it at this point, short of "I will never work for Man U". Anything else that leaves an opening will do so until Man U have filled the position with someone else. Any iteration of "right now" (at the moment, currently, etc) in any statement made leaves opening.

All he has to say is I'll be at Tottenham next season, first full season in our new stadium etc.

That's it, done.

I do think we all need to take a deep breathe here. We are getting swept up with the huge amount of speculation out there from Man U supporters and journalists chasing the story and the big headline.

Are we choosing to forget everything that Poch has said.

Only on Saturday when being interviewed by Gary Lineker after reaching 100 wins with Spurs he said how he wished for more wins and trophies in the new stadium.

Before the Inter game he explained that his dream was to win trophies in the new stadium with Spurs.

He said to the Spanish media during the international break, there are things in Spurs's future that binds me to the club.

Last week he said when speaking about the rumours, how happy he was here as he was valued, and that is so important for him to feel like that.

Loyalty is so important to this man! How many managers would rule out the biggest job in the world (Barca), and the perfect job for him, as he does not want to disrespect/upset Espanyol.....he is a man of principle!

He said that he does not need to reassure Daniel Levy about his future as you only need to do it that when you are not on the same page. I.e. You don't need to tell your girlfriend everyday that you are not going leave her, when you are in love, you know!

He said today that after 5 years, and with the constant rumours regarding his future, he has never left. I don't need to reassure the fans after 5 years. The Spurs fans should no the answer!

We went through this exact thing in the summer, with Real Madrid and Poch not categorically ruling it out. How many journalists wrote that he was off, you can't turn Madrid down?

Poch has been managing this project to get us into the new stadium all this time and just as he is about to get into the stadium, after expressing how many times his desire to do this? He is now walking away?

If he hadn't gone out for dinner with Sir Alex would this be a big deal, he apparently has turned them down already many times. But now is different, why?

We need to trust IN POCH. If he left us for United now or in the summer, he is not the man that any of us thought he was!!!!
Spot on.

Even if he came out and said it wasnt happening, the media would spin it in a negative light and STILL turn it around to him leaving.

Fuck me it doesn’t take much for full on panic stations to hit in here. If poch goes everyone else will and it’s the end of days for spurs. Have a word with yourselves IF (and a very big if) poch went why would all the players suddenly want out. Poch is the second highest paid manager in the league, so the standard of manager we could attract is a lot higher than we could 5 years ago. A lot of top managers in the world would love the chance to manage us. Chill out poch ain’t going anywhere any time soon and when he eventually does we will be in a great position to move forward.

"Shown the shocking lack of ambition that's holding him back from fulfilling his potential and winning titles... etc"

That's curious, I just watched it and came away with an entirely different vibe. He seemed relaxed and focused on the match, and refused to comment on specific rumours as always.

Nor was he particularly reassuring this summer when the rumours were flying around about Madrid, he did the usual thing of not commenting on other clubs and specific rumours. No need reminding that he renewed his contract at the exact same time. That's all the reassurance that I need for now.

Also later in the press conference he’s asked again and Simon the press guy cuts the woman off. Poch’s face looked pretty relieved as to say thank goodness I don’t have to talk about it again. I didn’t get the feeling he was a man wanting to leave, but then again I have a brain that can remember back to Friday last week when he said he wants to stay at spurs. Most of the media can’t remember that far back it seems.

I normally lean towards expecting the worst with Spurs, but I think Pochettino will be the manager of Spurs for the 2019/20 season.

That Times article tickles me. "Poch wants to be considered for Man U"

No shit, Shirlock. He literally just said a few days ago that he would rather be considered for these big openings than be considered for a firing!

I’m worried as I’m sure most fans are, it’s going to be a long season now with every press conference being used to unsetle him.

I’m worried that if he was to go we could crumble like a house of cards. Anyone talking about Eddie Howe as a replacement needs to give their head a wobble. We aren’t united we can’t afford to take a risk and make a wrong appointment, one mid table finish could set us back years.

If he was to go we should take advantage of what he has done and go for a manager that our new standing in the game allows. Not someone we could have got before he came in.

I'm not worried in the slightest nor should you be he is going to continue taking this club on.

I dont want him to go but if he does we are now a club that can attract a top manager. No point worrying about it.

dunno if this has been posted, from earlier today:

“First of all I want to send my best wishes to him,” Pochettino said. “I have a very good relationship with him and it is sad news It’s not my business what happens at another club. I only send my best wishes to Jose… After five years, there’s a lot of rumors that happen about my position here. I cannot answer this question. It’s not my business what happens in another club. I’m so focused on delivering my best job in this club. My business is trying to ensure the best job at this club. I’m focused and focused tomorrow on delivering my job. What more do I need to say [to fans]?”

Just watched sky sports news for 5 mins, fk me don’t think I can take 6 months of this shit.
Just throw a couple of mil at him Levy sign another contract plus nice little earner for his back room staff.
Nip it in the bud

Don't watch sky sports news then. Simple! They'll continue to edit quotes and press conferences to fit their agenda. And yes, Sky does have one. Just see the SkyBet tweet about trophies under Pep, Klopp, Mourinho and Poch. Klopp's runner ups were included, while Poch's weren't. Laughable.

If you do watch SSN, or any football news, or read any articles my advice is take it with a huge pinch of salt. They'll take one out of context quote and make it as if Poch has a come and get me plea.

You feeling OK?
I don't think I'm that bad. I'm never at the yankspurs level of extreme pessimism (the opposite side of which would be BBLG for the optimists); more of a Colonel Dax level of moderate, protective pessimism based on previous heartaches (the opposite side of which would be, I dunno, Shadydan for the optimists). But mostly I'm just here to pick up cheaply earned Funny ratings and not watch Roma (2018) for my man @Amo.

I’m way ahead of you, darts is on
I’d also not sign a new contract if I was Poch not till end of January anyway.
