If the reason Poch stay with us is due to Madrid or United not coming in for him he can leave for all I care as that means his focus are already somewhere else. (The way Madrid demand instant success would see him fired after 7 months tanking his own career in the process as he still have learning to do btw).

Luckily he seems to be invested in our project and I have no doubt he intend to stay with us for a few years atleast. He just seem like that kinda person and is a great fit for us. This is all my personal opinion obviously ?.

Jesus motherflippin’ Christ. Poch has made mistakes, like just about every manager ever. But he’s transformed us from a team that use to occasionally and tentatively flirt with the top four, to finishing strongly in there over the last three seasons. Until this season, we’ve been fucking great all things considered. His brand of football has been absorbing and breathless at times. If he goes, I guarantee people with be pissing themselves with rage and despair by early next season- it’s madness to wish him gone given the financial constraints we operate under.

If we fuck up CL qualification, I, like everyone else will seeth and whine but he still gets another shot in my book. What we do need is a very clear and realistic transfer strategy this summer- one where we take a few more risks to ensure we procure the type of players he actually wants. If this means playing a different game with agents, then Levy needs to change his policy and get it done. Poch has saved millions and millions in developing raw talent over the last few years- the club needs to back him in genuine ways, not offer him mediocre players that will do very little for the squad to push on

I agree except Poch has had us top three for three years not just top four :)

Kane is the best striker in the league and has scored in every game bar 1 since his return. Yes he missed a couple on Saturday but the reason for our defeats over the past 4 games has very little to do with playing our best player.

You're right about him being the best player in our team BUT how do you explain winning every game in his absence, but not winning a single one since he returned?

In his absence, apart from Eriksen, everyone played well, was full of fight and determination and, Son was absolutely on fire and, somehow, we were grinding out results.

Why did that all stop as soon as Kane was instantly placed straight back in the team?

Was it change of tactics? Change of shape?

Or was/is there perhaps a feeling among the players who filled in so well during his absence, that it makes no difference how well they perform, they're getting dropped as soon as possible, despite waiting for an opportunity to stake a claim for a place in the team, grasping it with both hands & keeping the club in the hunt for top spot?

Ok, so you reckon Poch and the players will give up now?

I don’t mean that in the motivational sense. I think this lot are a bunch of real fighters. What I am saying is we have relied on a core group that have played football for two long seasons without a real break. The squad wasn’t freshened up. Outside of the regulars who is new? Gazzaniga and Skipp? The same core group gets played week in week out. I think they are all physically spent. The injuries are an indication of that.

I see Marco Silva has been charged for confronting the referee on Saturday. Be interesting to see how this plays out now that they’ve set a precedent

It’s also possible that it wasn’t down to Harry Kane’s return at all. There are so many factors in football.

Did you see Klopp in the face of the 4th official and questioning ref at the end, however it was interesting that the ref and officials walked away from Klopp at end of his rant like they knew the camera was on.

During the Liverpool match (which I didn't see) somebody on here said that Klopp (once again) got in the refs face. Have you heard anything about possible repercussions for that? Or is it just safe to assume that, because he's Liverpool, he'll once again have fuck all done about it?

Oh of course. My post wasn't a dig at anyone, or an attempt to call anyone out. It was genuine questions, to hopefully get a gauge as to what people may think the actual problem is since his return & the results/performances that have followed.

Poch aint going anywhere - Manure have Ole and ZZ is back with RM.

Hopefully Levy doesnt take this for granted and actually backs him to the hilt.

Are we definitely safe now though? What about Chelsea?... ??

We got lucky in a lot of the games when he was absent. To be honest, we haven't played that well all season.

I've see many people saying we got lucky by winning those games with late goals, to an extent, I felt the same.

One thing is chipping away at my thoughts, though.

Winning one game by getting a ridiculously late winner could indeed be considered lucky. But is it really lucky when you do it multiple times?

Again, genuine question, not a dismissal of your response. (y)

The term lucky is bandied about so much - I hate the term lucky. Luck means by chance. How can us trying to get a goal by chance... unless it bounces off a guys ass, it isnt lucky... Its like people saying we were lucky to beat Dortmund... unless all four goals were not valid goals, we were not lucky... it is not lucky that our defence was great and Dortmund couldnt finish a hot dinner.

Its like saying im lucky cos im dating a hottie but you guys are forgetting my charm and game (Not datign a hottie or anyone for that matter arghhhhhhhhhhh).

I agree with @seven though that we havent played well all season barring that period leading up to Christmas and ofcourse the Dortmund games. Oh and the odd half here and there.

One thing that’s interesting is that there are plenty of people who want to put our recent one late goal victories down to luck, but when we lose by one late goal, it’s apparently nothing to do with luck but all to do with how shit we played.

You’ve been asking some good questions, but I’m not optimistic that you’ll get many equally good answers.

I've just battled through 15 pages of sometimes garbage, sometimes very reasoned posts. Some of you fella's should hang your heads in shame.
I know the game brings out emotion, as it should. But christ some of the OTT comments on here are ridiculous.
There is no doubt we have had a shitty last 4 games. Bloody disgraceful to be honest. But are we now in 6th? No.
Whats to come? A bloody hard game. They won't be easy. However, the game hasn't been played yet.
This break may actually do some good. When the boss says what he says in the media I have no doubt its to create a reaction from the playing group. This group have been together for a while. This group (I'm sure) will rally behind the club leaders (Hugo and Harry) and say enough is enough. Going to Spain could be a great bonding experience. Let's give these guys the benefit of the doubt. They have had a poor run, but they have earn't over the last few years our support.
I fully expect a positive result at Anfield.

Sorry but there is no chance any of the players were upset to see Harry back in the first team. They always speak so highly of him and understandably so. He is by far our most important player and his return should have created a lift among the players. Besides he's only one player and make no mistake Llorente will know when Kane is fit he starts anyway.
