you do know that he is very disappointed, and does feel he wanted to strengthen, but he also said we couldn't sign them. now that might be one of 4 reasons

1, The players he wanted wasn't available, because the selling club wouldn't sell, or the player didn't want to join.

2, the players he wanted were too expensive and meant he couldn't sign more than 1, but it would of hit his summer budget.

3, he couldn't sign them because our squad is full, and the HG quota needs to go up by 1, or he would of had to omit someone already in the CL squad, because we wouldn't of had a place

4, or it could of been Levy, which is the only choice you would choose even if Poch came out and told you that the players that he wanted weren't available

plenty of ITK's have said, it was Poch that decided not to buy, but you only have 1 view

Have to call BS. We all know Poch wanted Barkley (GR was pushing it on twitter big time for months).
We heard that we didn't go for it because the money was too much of a risk based on the injury he'd had.
Now Barkley is HG, reasonably priced, wanted to come and even punted on a move to Chelsea that summer.

If Poch was being 100% backed on the money he has to spend surely that deal would have been done....and even Danny Rose would have been thrilled.

I listen to Poch's words carefully. My feeling is that he is committed to us (for the moment) and is being patient and pragmatic re: Levy and funds.

I am fine with that.

People are just using his comments to fuel whatever narrative they have in their head, all Poch has to mention is a word like 'dissapointed' you automatically think that he has some issue with Levy/the board and Poch is looking for a way out. If you listen to what he says constantly in his interviews and in particular this one he is speaking about you, calm the fuck down and take a step back for a minute and look at what he and the club are doing, the man literally sat there and poured his heart out to the media about our club for a good 20 mins earlier this week in a passionate rant to the media, he wouldn't be doing that if he didn't give a shit and is looking for a way out.

Just chill the hell out.

A brilliant post that in my view is an exact accurate assessment of of where things stand.

In general, we should be truely grateful for where we stand as a club today from where we were about 10-12 years ago. I put that all down to Dan Levy and Enic.

Pochettino is well aware that Spurs can't compete with the "financially doped" clubs or clubs like ManU and Arsenal who've had 20 years of CL to build up their finances. And it's not just about the transfer fees but about salaries as well: f.ex. a player like Mesut Özil is on around £350,000 a week.
Pochettino have taken a club that used to be a mid-table team - and a little above - since the 70's to competing with clubs that have 2-3 times bigger budgets. Yet, twice Spurs ended up 2nd and last season 3rd the last 3 seasons.
He's convinced Kane, Son and Dele to sign new contracts despite of them being able to almost triple their salaries elsewhere. And win trophies. And he's improved almost every player he's bought - bare Clinton, N'koudou and Janssen.
Levy is also aware of the fact that unless he risk to upset the "financial health" of Spurs the club cannot compete money wise with the other "top clubs" and he can't blame Pochettino for not winning trophies in the strongest league in the world. Spurs are boxing about their weight.
True, for a club to be considered truly successful it should win trophies - but now a days only the EPL & CL titles are considered "real" achievements. Who really remember domestic cup winners? Qualifying for the CL is far more important than winning a domestic cup now a days. What would have a stronger attraction for a quality target: winning the League cup (sorry I can't bother to google what it's name this year) or qualifying for the CL?
I do have disappointments regarding Pochettino (and yes retrospect is a wonderful thing) and some of them are that Liverpool picked up 3 players who could easily have been acquired by Spurs for a "Levy bargain price": van Dijk, Robertson and Salah.
Thus said, I am not upset with Pochettino/Spurs going 2 transfer windows without getting in new players. Pochettino want the "right" players who can fit in and contribute and compete for the starting XI for season after season and not stop gap players who will only be squad fillers once the established players get fit. And such "right" players often cost a ransom. While squad fillers can come at the cost of upsetting the team spirit.

Like this?

Tottenham boss Mauricio Pochettino says he has been left "disappointed" by a second successive transfer window without any signings. (Mirror)

He says about twisting his words and they do it. Nobs.

We are talking about this window not 4 windows ago. God every man and his dog knows Levy has been careful with the pennies for the last 7 years.

You have also got to understand with Barkley is not every club do what Poch does, double training throughout the season. With the tear he had, that would of been high risk, considering he has hardly started 1 and a half seasons later. Know one knows what would of happened if Barkley had been fit at the time, because I doubt he would of cost as much as Sissoko

We don't do double training throughout the season

well i'd like to know when we stop doing them, we have so many muscular injuries, but still not the best to chance it on a player that had suffered such a bad tear. if he had been fit I'd of loved it if we signed him

And him being disappointed does not necessarily mean he is disappointed in Levy or for not having any money but disappointed because the players he wanted to bring eg Rabiot decided to be a fucker

Harry Redknapp was real animated about us on BT Sport last night. Asking how can you improve this squad? He was adamant its not easy and kept saying "who would you get?"

He then said that he knows for a fact Poch didn't want anyone else in this window, when Humphrey pressed him he repeated that "he KNOWS for a fact".

He was very adamant wasn’t he. He still has no axe to grind with us.

Why would he? Barring a bad end to his final season, Harry spent the best 3.5 years of his career with us, and at that point it was also our best period in the modern era. It was fun, the football was good, both he and us got to experience the Champions League. For those 3.5 years, almost 4 seasons, it was a match made in heaven which unfortunately had to end sooner than was ideal.
