Really? Didn’t he have massive falling out with players like Ramos last time?
The rumours are that Ramos could leave at the end of the season and there's only a handful of other players left from his spell at the club now - Varane, Benzema, Marcelo, Modric, Nacho and Casimiro. Considering Madrid's main target is meant to be Hazard who said a few months ago that he wants to work with Jose again it could kind of make sense. And Jose has wanted to work with Bale for years as well so maybe the club would think that he could get the best out of him? I think Jose isn't the manager he used to be, but fingers crossed they go for him instead of Poch - he'd certainly b a lot cheaper.

Not to pick on you but I think this post best sums up what I'd really like to believe about the situation at our club. My negativity stems from the fact that I know that our owners are trying to sell the club which suggests that rather than the stadium being a staging post towards greater cash being available for the playing squad it is just a milestone to a sale for our owners. If, as I suspect, the sale doesn't go through then the logical conclusion is that ENIC will extract their economics in the way that the Glazers have done by leveraging the club and paying themselves dividends. I desperately hope I'm wrong and that ENIC are intending to hang around and see this project through.
Let me guess, you don’t think the sale will go through because they are demanding to high a price? If you can’t say obviously I respect that.

Anyone else think Poch looked really fucked off last night in his post match interview? I think he was privately seething with our performance. Not the work rate or effort, but just the fact it was backs to the wall stuff for so long.

Well, Sarri countered his tactics from the last match and I do think we handled it as well as he would have liked. Whether that was due to being tired or what, don't know, but I expect he was ready to be done with it and move on.

The 2nd leg will be very interesting. If they can get a striker working then they will be much more of a threat. We need to be better tactically than the last game.

Why ever would they want Maureen back at Real Madrid ? His football, as he proved last time he was there, is the opposite of how they want to play.
Because Madrid always go for the short term option, and in the short term Maureen would win them a trophy or two before Maureen’s 3rd season syndrome kicks in.

He seemed really pissed off with the refs performance during the game last night as well.

We always are, I've posted before that when we've been beaten once we don't get beaten twice and Chelsea couldn't even beat us this time.

It's a perfect marriage, really. They don't keep managers long and he doesn't last long. What they really should do is sign him to a long term deal where he works 2-3 seasons then takes 3-4 yr sabbaticals, then comes back.

independent got this too.

For their own part, though, Tottenham are this time confident of indeed banishing that Old Trafford interest. One source says they “actually think they’ll have no problem keeping Poch”.

Club officials believe that he is too legally ring-fenced, that it is too complicated to extricate him from that, and that by far his own preference is to stay. Sources connected to Pochettino from Espanyol also back this up. They say that his first choice - even beyond going to Real Madrid - is to remain at Tottenham.

There is the tantalising prospect of bringing the club to the new stadium - one where Pochettino himself had direct input on the blueprints - just as so many of his players come to their prime, and thereby bringing all of this together to win the trophies he really wants. That is also a hugely tempting vision

I like the sound of that but the trouble is, is that it’s written by Delaney so it’s hard to give it much credence.
