Daily mail and probably more bullshit negativity press but i'll post it:

https://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/f...ard-Mauricio-Pochettino-unwilling-relent.html

A number of Tottenham players have privately expressed concerns that Mauricio Pochettino's energy-sapping training sessions have contributed to the club's lengthy injury list.

However club sources claim the manager is unwilling to reduce the intensity of training.

Spurs' season has been disrupted by a host of fitness concerns which have played a part in their mixed start to the season.

There is a sense that a number of Spurs' World Cup stars could benefit from a decreased workload given their arduous summers.

Tottenham players have often spoken glowingly about Pochettino's engaging training regime.

Pochettino believes the high octane nature of his sessions help ensure his team can play the pressing game he prefers.

Yeah but it’s the Mail- they probably still have a Falklands agenda against every living Argentine

Not much content in that article and no quotes -daily mail unresearched twaddle I believe. Dele pushed himself to play when not fully fit, Verts an impact injury and Eriksen has an excellent fitness record until this injurt, Dembele is chronic etc

Isn't this just lifted from the Times article from a month ago?

I hate the Daily Mail as much as any one.
But as these players get older, they are going to get injured more and will not be able to maintain the levels they did when they were 21
Eriksen, Dembele, Vertonghen, they're not youth players any more.

The obsession on this forum with the media having to quote some one directly for a story to be true is getting tiresome. Many won't be able to quote some one as it could out their source, which they would then lose. Even by not saying the individuals name, the context of the quote could be enough.

If I said it's warm outside today, would you expect me to quantify that with a direct quote from a weatherman?

I'm not saying the Fails article is true or false, but the logic applied in here to dismiss it is flawed.

It's the Daily Mail - that's all you need to know before making a judgement about the validity of the story...(y)

A lot of the players look mentally and physically jaded and along with the manager making several changes the side looks somewhat disjointed.

"Pochettino believes the high octane nature of his sessions help ensure his team can play the pressing game he prefers."

We haven't seen that high octane pressing game in about two years now.

Thought we upped it a lot in the 2nd half against Barcelona.
Also, when you take out the 90th minute 4th goal, we "won" the 2nd half because of that.

By playing really well during the majority of our games.

I just pointed out that it is strange for the journalist to say Poch trains the players hard to press, when we haven't really done much of that in the last few seasons.

That is true, it did come back out a bit against Barcelona. But I still feel that without Lamela playing no one ever really presses anymore. Or if they do it tends to be one player doing it on their own.

We rarely press as a team or in a system nowadays. It used to be Kane, Eriksen, Lamela, Bentaleb and Mason all running at the opposition in unison or in waves.

We also used to have a crazy fast team. Rose and Walker were a huge key to that formula IMO. Those two could run like fucking mad men all game and make up for mistakes in the press. That along with Dembele being much quicker back then plus Lamela and Son playing a ton and being quick allowed us to press all game cause we had the speed and stamina to do it. We line up all the damn time with a group that only features Son a player who is very fast.

If we can get our quick fullbacks back in the game consistently and run out Lucas & Son it makes the press a lot more feasible.
