Well saying if poch went he would too isn't very loyal to Spurs? Sure he could say he wouldn't be happy but to say his future lies with manager, doesn't aline with a shines nre 5 year contract

Yeah I do get that but right now it doesn't look like Pochettino is going anywhere....

Having a player loyal to the club they play for is incredibly rare. We have a player that appears to have a semblance of loyalty to out manager who seemingly seems loyal to us.

That's something positive for me.

Can't say I blame him. If I had a shit manager I couldn't stand I wouldn't hang around a company I liked either, especially if my companies direct competitors could offer higher wages and take care of me just as well if not better.

But just the same, a good boss can convince you to stay longer than you normally would. And we have Poch to thank for that.

Anyone who thinks our players are loyal to Spurs just because we are Tottenham Hotspur are kidding themselves. They are professionals, not fans.

See Mr T Sherwood for example. Half the squad wanted out under him.

I agree on your last quote too. That's why I worry about next season should Wembley screw up our "home" results. Say we have a shocker and finish 14th, how many of those players will hang around for the following year even with the new stadium. You'd hope all of them including the manager.

Meeting between Josep Bartomeu and Mauricio Pochettino in Barcelona
They met in a restaurant in the centre of town, with Barcelona looking for a new coach

Bartomeu and Pochettino

Sport EN| 24.3.2017 | 11:32h.
Josep Maria Bartomeu and Mauricio Pochettino met a couple of days ago in a restaurant in Barcelona. A meeting that comes at an interesting time with the club looking for Luis Enrique's substitute.

Barcelna's president has stayed away from the speculation over who could be the coach next season. However in various betting outlets Pochettino's name has been put forward as a serious option to replace the Asturian.

Tottenham are having a spectacular Premier League season and are second behind Chelsea. That has helped Pochettino raise his profile and he's been linked to various big clubs. It should be noted that the Argentine coach still has a home in Barcelona from when he was at Espanyol.

In England they say he will not abandon the Tottenham project while the club are trying to take a step forward and build their new stadium.

That's not exactly what you said. You called him average this year which is just not a fair statement.
Wel yes as you can't say he been brilliant for us this year. If you rated his season, I'd give 7 out of 10. Average

Not to nitpick, but isn't 7 out of 10 above average?

10, 9 = A
8,7 = B
6,5 = C
4,3 = D
2,1 = E
0 = Sissoko. ( Just kidding, got to be worth 2 at least). ;)

It's on the cusp... a c plus?
Don't think Sissoko should get a single point

a player I always liked and admired namely d.anderton at the time of the venables fiasco "I signed for spurs not venables".
If the lloris attitude is with many of our top players we are up the creek without a paddle because it looks like poch is smooching with the Barcelona president meaning he is proberbly off'
Where was poch when we were creating our rich history either not born or a toddler .
I say I don't care if its lloris or kane or ali or any other player that if not committed to totenham hotspur but to a manager who may or may not stay then I say "bye bye and luck at your new super duper galactic club" because the real fans will always follow spurs because it is in there genes .
If we have to sell the likes of lloris if poch goes then so be it then let the likes of wnks step up who have stated that there dream was to play for spurs and not"i will play for you until the manager leaves or someone richer comes along
I am glad the players get well paid now but in the days before bosnan we would be in a wonderful position at this moment in time and not vulnerable to the mega clubs as in these days

But surely the '90s are the perfect example of a club only being as much good as the people inside it. In the late '90s in particular we weren't Spurs, there was no glory, no dare is to do, because he we had bad people running the club from top to bottom.

I still don't understand. What is he average in comparison to?

Edit. Actually don't worry about it. I know you're just trying to get a rise out of me..... And not the good kind.

We shall agree to disagree x

Averaged compared to his previous seasons. If you think he's been brilliant for us this year, fair enough

Sounds implausible to me- a secret meeting of the Barcelona President and Poch in a Barcelona restaurant. The Barcelona President must be one of the best known people in Barcelona, so organising a secret meeting there is hardly going to be anyone's plan.

Poch is good friends with him, the club we're aware of the meeting.
