Asked about his future by Le Figaro, Lloris said: "My destiny is linked to Mauricio, it's a certainty.

"He matters a lot to me. Our relationship goes beyond football, it's a match, and one day he will be the best manager in the world. For me he is already. His presence and our relationship are the most important elements for me."

What a fantastic quote.

Really? What about the club? Whys it just the manager? He's tied to the big fat contract he signed for 5 years, not what the manager decides to do. Lloris has been average this season for us, well below his best

Well below his best? Not sure that is an entirely fair statement.

I also dont think there is anything wrong with a player talking genuinely about loyalty in any form in this modern football age.

I would love to see what other keepers you put on par with Lloris to say he is 'average'.

He's loyal to poch. Not to Spurs. Is that a good thing?

Can't say I blame him. If I had a shit manager I couldn't stand I wouldn't hang around a company I liked either, especially if my companies direct competitors could offer higher wages and take care of me just as well if not better.

But just the same, a good boss can convince you to stay longer than you normally would. And we have Poch to thank for that.

Anyone who thinks our players are loyal to Spurs just because we are Tottenham Hotspur are kidding themselves. They are professionals, not fans.

I don't think Lloris has had a great deal to do this season, tbf.

Yeah. He's made a couple of blunders. City game springs to mind, but other than that, in most of the ratings threads, its a whinge about distribution, which has been better recently other than Southampton at home, and the other comment being along the lines of "nothing to do".

He is by no means an average keeper, but I think he's had an average season

Statistically speaking (in terms of saves per goal and distribution) he is performing better than last season and better than pretty much all his rivals in the top 6.

What specially has been average about him?

It may not always seem like it but his distribution stats are excellent. I think it's definitely an aspect he's weaker on but he's also often asked to play low(er) percentage balls out to the full backs which is often a good 40 yard ball. How anyone can say he's been average is baffling.

The fact the city game got so much attention was due to the fact it was so out of character. We have the best defence in the league and some of the saves he's made this season have been miraculous.
Leverkusen away and his performance against Monaco away were absolutely world class

One of the best regarding his distribution stats...getting a bit silly now with people criticising it, seems some would prefer him to punt it long every time he has it, which more often than not leads to losing possession when the opponent CBs win the headers.
Jesus we've had some truly average keepers over the years...Hugo definitely isn't one of them.

We were spoilt with Robbo's distribution though. The bloke could put the ball on a sixpence over long distances.

Dont think anyone can question Hugo's loyalty to the club. Could have left when AVB went and he had 6 months under Tim fackin Sherwood but gave it a chance. But why would Poch leave? Most likely because the club cant match his ambition and if Spurs cant match Poch's ambition given the trust and bond they have, most likely the same could be said for Hugo.

As far as I can see Hugo desperately wants to achieve something with us and actually seems a rare footballer who sees the satisfaction and romantic notion of building something and organically winning vs. moving to a place with ready made success and just being another cog.....but ultimately the clock is ticking for him to win some major trophies in his career. Hope it is with us but the ball is in Levy (and whoever the money men behind him are) to match Poch's, Hugo and to be frank Kane, Alli etc ambition and talent over the next 1-2 years. That means no more Sissoko's, Jansens and NKoudou's and some genuine first 11 recruiting as we cant just rely on our existing team getting a bit better each season

How is it a bad thing?

How do you rate loyalty to a club?
Well saying if poch went he would too isn't very loyal to Spurs? Sure he could say he wouldn't be happy but to say his future lies with manager, doesn't aline with a shines nre 5 year contract

Maybe defence better again in front of them, just haven't seen games where he's saved us this year, a few mistakes, Man City ect, and kicking is woeful. As I said, top keeper, just not as good this year in my opinion

How many players would want to stay at Spurs if the manager leaves, think about it...there's not many who'd be happy to stick around waiting on a new manager coming in. It's a good thing anyway providing Poch sticks around, don't see it as a problem myself.

Comparing us to other clubs is a non-starter, situations like what we're in compared to our rivals for example aren't mutually exclusive Millsey.

We are a team who are punching above their weight and our players have never played at such a high level before, it's only natural that they'd get itchy feet if the manager left, the question you need to ask yourself is what else could we offer Hugo if Poch left tomorrow...?

That's not exactly what you said. You called him average this year which is just not a fair statement.
