Sessegnon and Malcom as well. Malcom may not be as hot as he was during the winter, but I'm guessing we're still in contact.

It's largely been a forgettable season. A few great results and two-three outstanding matches, but loads of mundane footie week in week out.
HOWEVER, 3 CLs in a row on is, on an aggregated basis, phenomenal! :woot:
sorry but i don’t go with the forgettable season. we have played away from home every game this year. this season’s target was always get CL for our first season in NWHL. guess what? we did it. not in style all the time, by any means but 3rd in the PL and clear of chelsea and arsenal

That's your opinion, you can view it how you want to. For me, there will be very little I remember from this season in the future. Apart form three-four matches and securing CL. Hence forgettable. I think a lot of fans don't realise how mundane we actually looked on the pitch for the vast majority of this season. It was at times not really all that.

When it was good it was really good eg. Madrid game, Man U win, Arse win.

There was a lot of ground out results which wasn't helped by unrealistic expectations from the fans and media as well.

I'd be lying if I said this was the most fun spurs team to watch this season.

In more recent years, a common theme was that Spurs are not a top team because they can't play badly and still win games.

This season we've mostly not played that well at all at times, yet still ground out wins.

That's it. Great, great highs. Among the best football in the world. An it's incredible that we've finished top 4 three times in a row. But in terms of actual quality of what happened on the pitch overall, I think we took a step backwards, and played not too well on too many occasions. I don't think I'm a bad fan for saying that.

We're accustomed to winning with style but in order to progress enough to win the league & beyond, we have to find a way to grind out those ugly wins. It has started. We are not only a better team but a grittier one with much more resolve.
With teams recognizing how we can open them up, more & more are resorting to parking the bus on us.
Now we need to find a way through that.

It may not have always been stylishly done but it's still progress.

I do not share this view. Last season? Yeah, maybe it would have been true twelve months back. But for this season on an isolated basis, we clearly were back to being stale and predictable, with lack of movements and uninventive possession based footie. In my view, we regressed in terms of pure quality on the pitch this season. What we proved this season, I think, is that we still haven't grown into that team that truly can win under any circumstances. Some mental obstacles are lingering still.

Getting into the cl will never be forgettable. I rember looking at the league table and hoping for a positive goal difference. You want more, we all do. But for me it was a very good season again. Yes it could have been better, but it could have been far far worse. I'd much rather our season than swanseas.
Never forget the years that we were shit and be grateful.

Edit - sorry was meant to quote everlasting seconds post. Can't be arsed to change it.

That bold part is it.
I believe many here were either not old enough, blocked those years out through extensive therapy, or simply are not aware of them.

Its classic nouveau fan thinking.
And i guess if you're not a match going fan, then the whole Wembley albatross probably doesnt register at all...from an armchair playing at Wembley is identical to playing at WHL.

I hated wembley but what has that got to do about how our season went? Finishing in the top 3 was much better than finishing mid table with nothing to play for after march.

He's moaning about the football and performances Baz...I think a lot of people underestimate the effect have a pumped, hostile atmosphere behind us can have on the team.
Wembley was shite apart from the big games.

Im not sure what your second point is about, im not doubting it, as that's obvious.

Agree somewhat, but I think this season really showed that some of our players have reached their ceiling, in terms of what's needed to go to the next level and I believe Poch realises this too, coaching and graft will get some players only so far, if the required quality is not there, then it's just not there. Poch knows he needs to refresh the 1st team with players that are at or can reach the next level.

Think i quoted the wrong person in my other post. Somebody was saying it was a forgettable season. I was just saying that getting cl football will never be forgettable and we had a good season.

My bad. I was actually sober as well.
