Good! No faffing about with the League and FA Cup, the latter has been dying for few years now. Use them to give games to those who are not starting regularly or young players coming through. So frustrating seeing some of the cup teams of the last 4-5 years! So many players never got the games they needed. How much more progressed might Kane, Carrol and Lamela, to name a few recent examples, have been? Hope Poch takes a different approach.

IMO, as crazy as it sounds we should be prioritising it over the league. Even the biggest optimists will agree that top 4 will be an incredible ask given how much other sides strenghthened and we also have a manager in transition.

Europa league is our ticket to the CL.

I disagree, IMO the league is our bread and butter, cup runs are a bonus.

I got two disagrees fair enough, but I think you might have misunderstood my post?

I would rather win a cup than qualify for the CL via the league.

But prioritising the Europa league, or any of the cups over the league early on is madness IMO

Starting with this Europa League competition winning it gets you CL - that's CL qualification after 17 games not 38. Yes, the EL has to be a priority.

I support this notion, we've got very little chance of finishing 4th this season. Top 4 will likely be (in this exact order) 1.Chelsea, 2. City 3. Arsenal 4. Man (most will argue but they will bounce back under lvg despite having lost their first game). 5 Liverpool and 6. Spurs. If we acheive anything higher than 6th we have exceeded expectations I would think. Hence, kudos to Poch for focusing on Europa.

I think that we've got more chance finishing 4th if we put everything into it and get a bit lucky with injuries (for a change). Trying to qualify for Champs League via the Europa League is just not very realistic in my opinion.

We could put everything into a Europa League campaign and go out in a one off knockout match to a dodgy pen. We can finish above what will be an over stretched Liverpool side. And Man U are shite. Believe!!

How about we do both? All this settling for less than the best mentality is what keeps us from doing it, Bill Nich would be turning in his grave with this kind of talk

The chance of winning the Europa Cup is slim. Only one team wins. Yes by all means go for it but the League has to be our aim, the two are not mutually exclusive

Picking your battles wisely is good strategy. If we go for both we would be splitting our energies, whereas if we focus our best effort on the Europa league that may give us the best chance of playing in the CL next season.

In the league we have to finish above 3 teams, two of which are arguably better than we are.

In the Europa league, we'll have to play teams who are primarily at our level or lower. If Benfica can make multiple EL finals in the last few years then we certainly can.

Does anyone know? If we were to lose the Europa League final to a side who have already qualified for the CL through their league position...do we still get a spot?

We invest 100 millions pounds in the squad and we can't do both competitions?

Is it even worth you watching football this season? You might as well put on £100, will millions and keep to the soaps
