With Kieran Trippier having suffered minor ankle ligament damage during last week’s 2-0 win over Juventus at Wembley, the manager must make a call on who will replace him in the starting line-up at St James’ Park.

I'd have thought a back 4 would see Dier at RB with Dembele and Winks in CM2. Not keen on Sissoko at RWB - we saw how well that worked when Son played LWB v Chelsea and made the infamous 'schoolboy error'.

Poch said a back 4 will be kwp back 3 will be sissoko. What ever happens it won't be dier. Given Wanyama is seemingly out id think back 4 with dier in CDM with dembele.

Sissoko has a chance to prove himself and be the player we hoped he would be. Centre stage my son.....this season is make or break. Please shine.

Being a decent defensive winger (albeit not the greatest attacking one) I feel that Sissoko actually has the attributes to be a very good wing back. He's just got to make sure that he doesn't switch off defensively, particularly given he's not played the position much.

It's likely that it will be Sissoko, although he's played there before & he wasn't very good. In way though it rather depends on whether we play 3 at the back, because if Dier Or Toby are in behind him it may not be to bad.

My heart says 4-3-3 with KWP...my mind says 3-5-2 with Sissoko...

Don't underestimate how highly Posch rates Winks. I can see him starting with Moussa in centre mid thus Leaving Dier free either for RB or RCB depending on whether we play 2 or 3

I don't think Sissoko has any chance of being with us in September so surprised that so many expect him to start. I'm not sure I'd be trusting him now. I know what Poch said but i just thought he was avoiding saying his real plan.

At a guess I'd say it's Dier and KWP and Winks in a 352....

It was Leicester and he was actually pretty good for a change.
