I’ve accepted the loss of Toby some while back; I know little of De Ligt other than what I’ve read on here. However, the fact he’s played with Sanchez and the suggestions he’s years beyond his biological age as a centre back equates to me being in huge favour of his signature. Add Grealish and Martial and I’d consider this to be the best window ever. Ok, arguably I’m a dreamer, but I’m not the only one...
Love a spam rating. Appreciated ??@ maffy or whoever u r ???

every season we will know what we can afford to net spend, but taking 30m away for a player that Poch wants out because of whatever happened, means 30m less net next season. if we don't sell him this season we will not only be 30m out of pocket, but the amount that whoever we have in line to replace him in difference in wages. if his replacement is on 50k a week that's another 1.3m, then it could be a case of several top teams bidding on him. how would you really feel if he went to Arsenal?
Top teams and Arsenal... pick one. But honestly, Toby would surely be going to a better club than Arsenal.

who knows where any team will finish come May, I guarantee no one other than Leicester fans would of even considered putting a bet on them winning the PL.

I still wouldn't chance 30m+ loss on a player that's not happy with us, and we're not happy with him.

Toby should be moving to Man U. They need a good central defender (Jones, Smalling, Rojo, Bailly, Lindelof etc, not in the same league as Toby)

Well yeah but they spent some monies on some random players and have dick emery now he's awful but I like him
They have now pushed us down to 6th and leapfrogged west ham in to fifth
This must be true because I read on here that if you buy some players it predicts your future finishing position in the league.
Whoooooo :blackalien: spooky shit

my bad, I was going by what was mentioned during the window last season, so whoever mentioned it never did their homework properly (like me when I was at school, and waisted my time posting the post you quoted.

I thought it would be strange for him to do it twice!

Just to confirm what others have said, Davinson Sanchez had the Ajax or Barcelona offer the season before he signed us, but it was initially Barca B.

Davinson is quoted directly as saying "Spurs was the only offer on the table" last summer. There doubtless was other interest, but we were the only concrete bid.

----------------------------------------

“Everyone was telling me, “You have to play in Barcelona: you’re fast, strong, technical, made for it”. It was initially to play for Barca’s B team, but I wanted continuity at a high level.

“I had a fantastic time at Ajax and we reached the Europa League final. This summer, I heard a lot of noise, but Spurs was the only offer on the table. Mauricio Pochettino is a huge influence.”

Reckon this ship sailed as soon as he made raiola his agent. Levy hates agents with a passion, especially absolute greedy shitty scumbags

Doubly concerning that if he had asked anyone at all, he would have known that this would seriously hurt his ability to move to Spurs well after knowing we were interested, so perhaps he had already decided he wanted to move to a bigger club.

Didn't even think of that angle... that's depressing haha

Slither of hope - it still reads as if Raiola is only aboard currently (this obviously can change) as an advisor.

He is still attached to what seems to be his original agent.

Like just about everything else, it is the hope that kills you.

I think it would be more sensible to go for Pavard as Alderweirelds replacement this summer and to earmark De Ligt for a move in 1-2 years time when he's proven himself a little more, physically developed further and demonstrated he wasn't a flash in the pan.

If De Ligt has proven himself in two years, we will not be able to compete for him.
