"I want to save the names for my book," he said. "I can't give away all the juicy bits. I'll be honest, I wouldn't have squared up to Younes, he'd flatten anyone."

One of them had to be Holtby - not too many players that Mason was big enough to square up to - and Holtby left that first summer.

From what I saw Holtby wasn't short of effort though.

Well, he says specifically it was not Kaboul - so I would guess Ade and Capoue were too big for Mason also. Maybe Lennon

He said he didn't stand up but there were others also on his side (Kane amongst others), Kaboul was notably one of the trouble makers which I believe was noted by ITK.

Can't imagine Holtby being a bother. If anything he's the one player I was always surprised at not sticking around and being perfect for Poche.

Mason is like 5' 10", he's really not the midget he appeared to be. Great interview with him on The Spurs Show podcast atm

Whoever it was we should be grateful. It was the turning point and the moment we started to take pride again. Not long before this there was a thread on SC asking who were the heroes in the current squad and people were struggling to pick anyone. There was no connection.

Worth bearing in mind that in Pochettino's book he said he never had any problems with Adebayor. He marks his card as an oddball with a complicated private life, but nothing football-related - says he realised quickly Adebayor just didn't suit what he wanted to do at the club, and they agreed cordially that he would leave. Considering he is fairly transparent in his criticism of other players in the book I can't imagine he would be saying that unless it was true.
