Was watching this game, the the chance at 50min shows the fine margins. Just his finishing letting him down at the moment, which he is usually very good at when it comes to finding corners

it is strange how his finishing seems to have deserted him, not that he was ever lethal but was still fairly reliable in front of goal, maybe he needs a few months training with kane. would love to see him finishing those chances but i'll still take the positives out of it and say that not many players would have worked themselves into that position to begin with. it's a bit like with sterling today where they mentioned in commentary how a couple of years ago he wouldn't have scored those goals, it may take marcus some time to get there but i still think he can with a bit more patience and experience. there was a good pass and a good tackle in there too which saved a probable goal, he's never going to be the greatest of defenders but he is doing his bit which was/is one of the main criticisms aimed at him.

Seems to be growing into it there.

Hopefully he can stay in the team for the rest of the season and come back a better player/person next season

He's showing a huge improvement in his decision making, not running up blind alleys, passing when he should, not getting caught in possession and drawing the foul instead.
He now looks a step above the team he's playing for.
On his recent showings I'd like to see him in for GNK next season.

It did look a big improvement but he isn't ready yet. Still too careless with his passing.

Like you said he was never Kane but I always thought his finishing was above average. 7 times out of 10 he'd place the ball in the corner if he had a chance. It's just he would rarely get into those places and would more create rather than find himself in the box. I hope his confidence isn't completely knocked but him getting into more goal scoring positions seems to be a positive for me. As ever though I imagine he would look a lot better playing around better players.

Thanks for the updates from those who watch the games. Things are beginning to sound more positive and I am really hopeful we will see him back at NWHL and in the first team squad next season.

just equalised to make it 1-1. similar to his goal from the other week, beat a couple of players on the edge of the area and stuck it in the bottom corner.

Would you say he’s playing well enough to justify a squad place next season?

difficult to say as he's essentially playing for a team about the level of a cardiff or southampton(relative to their league) so who knows how he'd do playing with the quality of players we have here. he's still a work in progress and he's certainly not ready to displace any of our current starting attackers but as someone who could offer something different off the bench he could be worth a place. i think it would be better for his overall development to carry on playing regularly elsewhere though, maybe feyenoord would be good for him as they're next door to excelsior so wouldn't need to adapt to a new place, just new teammates.

today wasn't actually one of his better games imo but when he plays well without scoring or assisting people just assume he didn't do anything so i guess today goes towards balancing out those games. the crowd were on their feet every time he got the ball in the 2nd half and you can see his confidence growing and he's starting to find his feet in the final third, as i said before he may be a slow burner and not make it until he's 22/23 or so but every game he shows signs at the very least of his potential.

For us to have a 6th choice AM/winger as an academy kid is perfect. It’s basically taking Nkoudou squad place. He probably wouldn’t play too much bit like KWP situation. I’d like to see him given a chance. But can also understand how another year on loan may benefit him. Personally think the championship would be better for him and toughen him up a bit and see if he can handle the physicality which will always be a question mark given his size. But I definitely think he is the kind of player that would flourish around better players.

The fact that the crowd get on their feet when he has the back fells me what I need to know, he’s not at a stage where in men’s football he’s expected to make something happen or do something exciting,

At 20 going 21, I don’t see the benefit of a loan outside of the PL next season. He’d develop far better if he’s having to step it up against top quality defenders.

The cards aren't falling right for Edwards. He is one of, though some could argue, the best talent we've produced, but is in a position which is stacked with quality in our first team. I don't see how he gets a chance next year, unless one leaves and we really push and rotate him in well whenever possible. I think his performance would look good around high quality players. THe same way Foden doesn't tear it up but looks the part at City I think that is what I would expect from him if he was in our first team until he really settled.

Feyenoord would be good, though I would like him to go to a better league like the Bundesliga but that would require adapting to more new surroundings. What would have been best for him is if he joined Ajax last summer when they were after him, I assume we rejected any bids. His contract ends in 2020, so I can't see the club allowing him to go on loan unless he signs some sort of extension and it becomes that chicken/egg situation again where ultimately the player suffers.
