Great going forward but not known for his defensive qualities.

Easy mistake to make if all you've seen is highlight reels. But Atal is one of the best defenders in Europe:

Here are Atal's stats up until January, when Nice started moving him further upfield. Elite level defensively (posession-adjusted tackles and pressures that lead to a change of possession are literally off the chart at 3.66 and 17.82 respectively):

Surely a RB is more of priority than Sess

(not that I wouldn't love to sign RS)

A few of the media and ITKs implied that we're in for both Sess brothers, Steven is a RB so if true it would give us two HG players and youth cover on both sides. If the talent/potential is there it could be a really great bit of business and makes the 60m + addons for AWB less value.

We need a right back for now not in a year or twos time. Not even sure Steven sessengon is near walker peters level .

Its a fair point, but equally is AWB ready to play every game for us at an elite level in the PL and CL? Yes he had a great breakout season at Palace but its a different environment and standard so all of these younger players are inexperienced to varying levels. Someone like TAA doesn't come along very often, generally you've got to blood them in and develop them although obviously RS is a couple of levels below AWB right now. We will need to find some value as we cant prioritise every position.

Zaha and awb can rot at palace they want stupid money. Lamela would get more goals and assists than zaha if he’d played the same amount of games

We should be all over this.

I'm sure we could agree terms with the player, however, Palace have every right to demand whatever fee they deem fit. They are in a very strong position, which is why I think this transfer is a step to far for us. We have bigger priorities.

If we do tie up NDombers and Lo Celso, I can genuinely see us selling Lamela, especially with Eriksen possibly staying. That would probably yield around 20 million. If we were then to sell Trips for 25-30 million, I could see us maybe playing ball with Palace on a high price and getting this deal done

No full back will play every game for us in the CL and PL.

I hope so. We'd turn our two biggest weaknesses into massive strengths. Exactly what Liverpool did.
