So people banned from the transfer forum should also be banned from the entire forum?

That way those of us who play by the rules will have all player thread in one forum?

I am not banned from the transfer forum, but don't visit it out side of the windows. Any thread in the transfer forum should only be about the players potential move and any thread in SC is about them with us. Otherwise what's the point in having both?

We have lots of player threads but couldn’t find one for Poch.

Feel he deserves a lot of credit for our win yesterday over Fulham. They’d taken a hold of the midfield at the start of the 2nd half but we made an early change on the hour switched to a new formation and it changed everything.

Also great to see him give Winks a run out for the last few minutes

I feel he deserves a lot of credit full stop.

A lot of people, myself included, were on the fence regarding his hiring.

He has consistently punched above his weight, manager the players superbly and shown fantastic loyalty.

Given our results he could easily play media games and push for more funding. This would divide the fan base more against the board.

Instead he knows how to manage a situation like this and has the team pulling together.

I was joking but also not willing to have this discussion in a thread about Poch.

That type of spamming gets people banned.

Newcastle and Fulham looked a relatively easy 6 points when the fixtures were announced but after the transfer window I was sort of expecting a poor start. Full credit to Poch (and the players) for getting maximum points, lose or draw either game and our off the pitch problems are magnified and compounded. I would actually go as far to say they were two of the most important games in our recent history as far as improving the general mood and perception of spurs.

Totally agree.

Strange situation to come off three excellent seasons, hold onto our star players and manager and still feel frustrated with the club.

The regular thread is still shut off from half the forum by being stuck in the Transfer Rumours section, along with half the player threads.

I moved all the threads that we took into the Transfer Rumours forums back into Spurs Chat once the transfer window closed. There must have been five or six of them, maybe more, I don't know, I didn't count. I just checked and I missed TWO. This and the Dembele thread. So not 'almost all' and certainly not shut off to almost half the forum.

The moving of the player threads has never made sense to me anyway - the threads in TR are for discussing transfer speculation, the Player Threads in Spurs Chat are for discussing performances and form etc - just keep them separate, don’t effectively shut half the forum down every summer and January...

Yet keeping it separate doesn't work, we know this because it's been tried.

The player threads in Spurs Chat are there to discuss form but come transfer window time that's not what happens, instead you get transfer rumours and ITK being discussed in them. Effectively splitting it into double the work. We put enough hours as it is into it and if moving them cuts back on that then it's the sensible thing to do as they get moved back when the time comes. It isn't as if there's nowhere to talk about it, the thread is still there, just in a different place.

I was dead against his appoint and I was dead wrong.

I was fairly close to the pitch and dugout yesterday and, although I didn't know what he was saying or thinking, you could see the cogs turning.
Totally changed the game with Dembele coming on. I thought it would have been Dier off but just before the change I thought it would be Alderweireld. I was still wrong although the formation change was as I expected in the end.
Fulham had taken control and we were on course to lose. In the past, I haven't always been impressed with his ability to change a game in decline but he nailed this one.

Obviously when I was referring to "half the player threads" being shut off from half the forum, I meant they're shut off during the period that they're in the Transfer section, not now (I hadn't even realised you'd moved all but two of them back, it wasn't a criticism of your admin skills or something).

Yet keeping it separate doesn't work, we know this because it's been tried.

Ok if it's too much work then fair enough, though obviously large numbers of people can't talk in the threads once they've been moved into the Transfer section, as lots of regular posters can't post there, and you get people doing this - creating threads in Spurs Chat as they can't see where the player watch/manager threads have gone.

How you guys run the forum is obviously up to you and what works for you, but explaining how it doesn't work perfectly is something that's going to happen given the current setup. We've had people start Rose, Toby and Poch threads at least this summer in Spurs Chat because they haven't been able to use the threads that have been moved for any discussion.

I'm sure you're right that during the summer most player discussion becomes transfer discussion not form/ability etc, but obviously some people who have been banned are going to still want to have that discussion.

I'm just pointing out that stuff like this will continue to happen. It's especially difficult this season with World Cup performances to talk about and the funny transfer window timings.

I absolutely love that clip. It's like we have a family running our coaching, people who've known, worked and loved each other as friends for many years, and who share the same dreams together.

I also love that these guys are all trying to instil the same feelings into our players, so they can learn and work hard together, and that puts a warm feeling in my heart. Everybody works so well together.

I hate Mourinho, but he said yesterday that the team who achieved the best window was Tottenham., and said it was an amazing thing to hang on to all our players this summer. (I hated him a lot less for about ten seconds after that).

Hearing these comments from Trippier after the match, and I am reminded of just how close-knit this squad is - and how Poch makes it a point of emphasis among all players that they are here for each other - from shaking hands with everyone every day, to backing each other on the pitch.

The value of Poch to the club, really cannot be overstated.

Think it's worth pointing out that after all the fuss about the summer, it's the first time we've won our first two games since Poch's first season, when we beat West Ham and QPR.

We've only won the first three once since the start of the Premier League - back in 2009.

The first season we qualified for the Champions League. We got off to a flyer that year - 5 wins out of 5 before losing to Utd.

If I had to choose one word to describe Poch it would be class. Hope he becomes our Fergie & builds a Spurs dynasty over the next 15 - 20 years.

I certainly wouldn't want anyone else coaching and managing the players and I really do mean that. He's the best thing to happen to this club since Sir Bill himself. Sadly, in modern day football things can change very quickly and the days of the Fergies and the Whingers are now gone, and we should all accept that, but I hope and pray Poch will be here with us for the long haul (whatever that may mean).

He's just signed a 5 year extension to his contract which was probably the best signing we could have made this summer, but we all know the spectre of Real Madrid hangs over Tottenham Hotspur and they will try to get him off us at some point but I reckon he feels his personal bond with THFC is now very very strong and that he's as passionate about us as we are about him.

I'm sure he feels the love we all have for him here. He's a man with great integrity and loyalty to those who stay with him and support him.
