Poch was always going to be asked about the stadium no matter how detailed a statement the club released. The press are always going to look for an angle about how it might be affecting the team.

He came across brilliantly in this press conference saying all the right things - and importantly he sounded like he believed what he was saying.

sports journalists are notorious for asking dumb questions. Poch is actually very patient with them.

Flawless logic that.
Flawless but for me the stadium setbacks now seem the most likely reason we did not spend.
If news comes out next week the club has been sold or something then I may well change my view again. I'm flexible like that.

Maybe that's why cute hoor Levy didn't invest big money into players this summer as he knows Poch b gone next year.

Clearly this is a foolish statement after he tried signing Grealish etc. I personally think Levy as a business man has seen prices inflate astronomically and hopes that the trajectory doesn't continue with other teams in the Premier League starting to refuse to pay silly money. The money spent by Liverpool this year settles their squad, the same applies to other big spenders such as Man City, Chelsea, Everton, Fulham & Wolves.

Even Man U pulled the spending in this year. The only teams I see making huge changes to their squad as opposed to tweaks from now on are Arsenal & Aston Villa if they gain promotion. I think the market and fees being demanded will start dying down for Premier League teams now. With gull signings made, squads pretty much settled and the transfer window disadvantage no longer being an issue as of next year, I think we'll start becoming more competitive in the market when it comes to achievable targets. The only concern now is retaining certain star players and the Monet invested recently into Serie A

“When you are in a difficult situation, this is the moment when you need to show that you are there," he said. "It is easy when everything is good to be there, but when the winter is coming it’s easy to run away.
"I want to be on the frontline fighting and trying to win with all the circumstances”

Poch is Jon Snow, confirmed.

What the hell is Jenas playing at? He has gone overboard trying to move Pooch to Manure.

Very strange comments really, ones I don't even agree with and they don't even sound like they're coming from Jenas. Regardless of what's happened here I don't think Poch would be so quick to jump ship to United. Madrid and it's a whole different matter, but I'm not personally sure about United. Plus, it's not like United would be coming in for him now or anything, we still have time give him more what he wants to further develop the team.

We have lots of player threads but couldn’t find one for Poch.

Feel he deserves a lot of credit for our win yesterday over Fulham. They’d taken a hold of the midfield at the start of the 2nd half but we made an early change on the hour switched to a new formation and it changed everything.

Also great to see him give Winks a run out for the last few minutes

With all the talk over the summer of our players improving this season, we've forgotten that we have a young manager who can (or will) also improve

So this thread is a good idea

Re. Fulham game, I agree with the OP; Poch's subs were positive and done early enough in the 2nd half so they could have an effect on the game. Well done boss (y)

I love this quote from him after the match...

"Players that are not happy, from my point of view, everyone can leave," said Pochettino.

That's the bald faced truth of it, right there. If anyone doesn't want to be here, they can go. He's only interested in working with players who've committed themselves to him and to the club. From that point of view, it was interesting for me that he played Toby. No ambiguity. Nothing left to speculation about who wants to be here and who may not. It's one of the reasons we love Poch and trust him in what he wants to achieve with THFC because I believe those dreams are ours too.

For me the most important part of that quote was the bit you left out: " then it is up to them to negotiate with Daniel Levy".

Yes if you want out you can have out, but being out might mean sitting out if the deal doesn't suit us and that's not a good thing for the player.

The regular thread is still shut off from half the forum by being stuck in the Transfer Rumours section, along with half the player threads.

Honestly it’s just a bit ridiculous, we need to be able to talk about our players and manager - it’s literally the entire point of a football forum!

So people banned from the transfer forum should also be banned from the entire forum?

That way those of us who play by the rules will have all player thread in one forum?

I think you’d be surprised at how many of us did “play by the rules” and still got permanent bans with no explanations behind them...

The moving of the player threads has never made sense to me anyway - the threads in TR are for discussing transfer speculation, the Player Threads in Spurs Chat are for discussing performances and form etc - just keep them separate, don’t effectively shut half the forum down every summer and January...
