Five changes to the team that started against City in the Champions League on Wednesday night. Paulo Gazzaniga, Juan Foyth, Davinson Sanchez, Ben Davies and Eric Dier come in for Hugo Lloris, Kieran Trippier, Danny Rose, Victor Wanyama and Moussa Sissoko. It's Paulo's first start in the Premier League since the win at Huddersfield on 29 September. He more recently played in the FA Cup at Palace in January. Eric returns after a month out with a hip problem. Vincent Janssen is also back on the bench after recovering from an ankle injury.
Hugo Lloris misses out today with a slight muscle injury.

Match: ___ Premier League - Day 35 (PL)

When: ___ Saturday, 20th April 2019

Where: ___ Etihad Stadium

Kick Off: ____ 12:30 pm

Referee: ____ Michael Oliver

Team Form: _____ Man City WWLWW _____ Spurs LWWWL ____ (All competitions)

Man City have won each of their last 3 PL games against us, the citizens are looking to equal their competition best run of four successive wins against us. We have only won one of our last 8 visits to the Etihad (W1 D1 L6), conceding 23 goals in this period (2.9 per game)

We are looking to become the 1st team since Liverpool in 2008-09 to win away in the league against both Manchester clubs in the same season.

None of Man City's last 25 PL games have ended level, the longest current run in the competition. The citizens have won 21 of those 25 games (L4), including each of the last 9.

No side has won more points in PL games between the "big six" this season than Man City (19), while only Man Utd (6) have won fewer than us (7).

We have lost each of our last four away league games, conceding two goals each time. We last lost more in a row on the road in the top-flight between March-May 2004 under David Pleat (6).

Poch has only tasted victory in 1of his 5 PL trips to the Etihad (W1D1 L3), a 2-1 win in February 2016 against Manuel Pellegrini's Man City.

Man City striker Aguero has failed to score in each of his last 6 PL appearances against us after scoring 10 goals in his first 7. He has scored 19 PL goals for Man City this season - 1 more will see him become just the 2nd player to score 20+ PL goals in 5 consecutive campaigns, after Thierry Henry (between 2001-02 and 2005-06).

We have won all five of our PL games without Kane this season. We last lost without Kane taking part against Man Utd in October 2017.

Factoring absolutely everything in, our high spirits, City being under pressure to keep pace with Liverpool, the nature of their defeat on Wednesday, our determination and the fact that this is football, this really could go either way.

I’d be over the moon with a win. Would be ace to put another nail in City’s quadruple/treble coffin.

That said, they could absolutely batter us if they are up for it.

Very interesting fixture, this.

I won’t be too upset if we lose, given Wednesday night’s result.

Looking at your poll, I'm torn over whether Spurs will

(a) lose narrowly
(b) secure a score draw or
(c) win

We did, after all, manage to do all three the last time we played them.

:joyful:

As always, massive THANK YOU to @Bulletspur for taking the time & effort to create a match thread for us. It's always appreciated.

@Nerine , I think we're likely in for a tanking. I'm not being negative, we've just got no fit players & they've got over £150m worth of talent from Wednesdays bench that they can introduce to their starting line-up to freshen things up.

However, one thing our team has showed us in recent times is that it seems to play better when it's backs to the wall & nobody gives us a chance in hell of getting anything from the game.

In my mind, as fundamentally pointless as it is, I’ve written this one off for a number of reasons. I don’t for one minute think Poch or the squad have written this off, but I’d be very surprised if we got anything. Either way I hope we retain something for Brighton because that’s much achievable for a thin squad fatigued by fixture demands, the epic from Wednesday and travel tiredness

Not wishing my life away but I want this done and dusted.

A point would be a bonus. Looking forward to Tuesday night TBH.

Wonder if the Man City faithful fans will turn up to support their team.

I read somewhere (slightly off topic) that the City players were on a supposed £1 million per man bonus to do the CL/PL double. No wonder some were in tears. Our squad is reputed to be on a £5 mil share-up.

Lets be honest theyre either going to hammer us into the ground or it will be a mundane 0-0 / 1-0

In all honesty im still on such a high from Wednesday that i just feel exhausted to even watch this game but I will - imagine playing in it.

IF we win though - basically we have fucked Man Shitty over and ruined their season.

I'm not going, but I personally will be very disappointed if the away fans don't spend the whole game jumping up and down, making the video screen hand gesture while singing V-A-R-DOO-DOO-DEE-DOO-DOO to the tune of Baby Shark

Hi SteveH - I am sure this was a funny post and clever haha but what do you mean by Waco?
People would be committing 'metaphorical' mass suicide. Don't be too heavy here we are talking football.

I might just stick on Wednesday’s game instead.

In all seriousness, as long as we win our remaining home games and Bournemouth away this one shouldn't matter so much. Don't expect it to be as gung ho as the CL tie from either side, but the overriding emotion from the final minutes might just give us the boost we need. Yes, we lost on the night, however without Kane we scored 3 up there. Defensively they are not great. Need to step up ourselves at the back.

So 0-0 incoming and I wouldn't be too upset about it.
