MentaL price, close to double his value. He got the move he wanted. Only way this transfer works for us is if we buy well with the money. Cash in the bank is of new use to us

He's a must sell for that money. Trippier is a ready made replacement, Walker-Peters is around and we've £50 million extra in the coffers.

Big mistake. Best right back in the league, weakens us, strengthens a direct rival. Wrong message to the rest of the team.
This is the best team i have ever seen at Spurs, going since 1969, keeping it together is our best chance of winning the league, let's not throw it away. Trippier is decent and more than decent attack wise but Walker is the best and any more replacement for him is therefore less good.

Agree but people need to learn it's player power and the player wanted to leave. Nothing you do about that. Pay small wages, players heads will turn. Rose for example won't be happy to be on half of walkers wage now. Get ready for a bumpy ride

I have a different attitude towards Walker, he is a player I have never particularly rated, his pace is his asset, at 27, he's going to get slower, not better.

I'm not glad we've sold him, but I'm not unhappy about it.

Great price and the right time for him to go. Trippier is maturing, very quick and a better crosser of the ball than Walker. That said Walker has been a top player over the years and I wish him well.

I'm not too bothered we have sold the guy as he was a bit churlish at times about losing his place. Also, he was only a season or too from reaching his sell by date for a top team. I just wish we would stop selling to rivals.

In a perfect world we'd keep Walker but if he wants out then so be it.

We might be weaker but it's not the end of the world.

Trippier started to look impressive in the second half of last season. If we start the season with Trippier first choice and buy a good up and coming player for competition I don't think we'll particularly weakened

Shame though to not keep Walker in his prime.

Whilst I'm worried that other players may seek to leave, maybe one of the best things we could do with some of the money is tweak the contracts of our best players further? THE top priority at the moment is keeping Dele, Kane, Toby etc
Although we are somewhat constrained by the new ground we do need to bolster a great squad (by quality not size) with a purchase or two in the attacking dept.

The league can be as close as 1 point .

Surely Walker is worth at least 1 point more than Tripier ?

Sad to see Kyle from Sheffield go .

Wish him well .

I don't think he strengthens City that much. His percentage of decent final balls is very low and there were plenty of times when he was truly awful for us. Zaha tore him to bits last season. It's all water under the bridge now and hopefully this will kick start our window. There were plenty of games last season where I wanted Trippier to start ahead of Walker anyway.

Not really. Losing Kane, Alli, Eriksen, Lloris or either of our centre backs would be a very hard blow.

Losing Rose and replacing with Davies would see us weakened.

But in my view losing Walker to replace with Trippier is not a big enough weakening to be that big a problem.
