""I feel he can help me take my game to a new level."

No Kyle, that manger was Poch. Guardiola won't do that. Your development days are over mate, its just a two season stint at City, followed by a succession of crappy, smaller clubs. I'm not bitter of course. Good luck to him I say!

Usual garb spewed out by a new signing. I just hope this springs us into some transfer action!

Let's not be bitter over this one folks. It's worked well for all sides. KW was good for us in many ways. Good luck to him.

Only if that cash sitting in the banks comes out on the pitch. Right now we are weaker than last season, our rival stronger

We've not been weakened dramatically. The last quarter of last season, some of our best performances were without Walker in the side. We finished second and had an horrific injury record throughout the season to key players. We'll be fine. I really do believe that Trippier will step up next year, under Poch, he'll become a better player than Walker.

Disagree

This hasn't strengthened us!

Maybe we can cover this with Trippier, and maybe he'll be better than Walker given time in the side BUT right now we have sold the best RB in the country to a rival! And have made zero signings.
Our first 11 is right up there as the best in the league but our squad is very thin. We have to make signings and we have to strengthen now. Even if those players don't directly improve that starting XI we need players that will come off the bench and positively impact the game.
I don't mind people cutting into Walker and his faults because he's left but at this point in time we are worse off than we finished last season. Will cross my fingers to that changing as pre season gets into full swing.

I didn't say we were stronger. Of our first choice starting 11, if we had to lose one player, it would be Walker. I like him, he's good, but he's not anywhere near £50m good. I trust Poch. And, personally, I think he was asked to find another club. Just my opinion.

Why do fans start wailing that we haven't signed any players...when we still have 6-7 weeks to go til the window shuts. Unlike our rivals, we don't have much that needs fixing, other than, as you say, squad players. The fact that our team is still together for a third season, and I should think will have improved from last season will make us even stronger.

Firstly, when people say he's if you had to lose one player ect? Why do we have to lose a player? Aren't we ambitious enough to keep players we want? And also there may well be 6-7 weeks left of the window, but if we are going to wait till after the season starts we may as well no bother signing anyone as they won't have a pre season with us and will be a waste of time. Signings made now are vital

Agree here, however, although your last sentence is true, this is the case for all teams. Chelsea, city and Utd will be in their second year of a new manaer's systems so should therefore improve. Teams have to add to their sides to actually move forwards, natural progression with the same side in reality leaves you standing still at best.

At the moment Arsenal, city and Utd will/ should be better. I admire your confidence if you think experience from last year alone will keep us ahead of the rest.

We would have preferred not to lose a player, but IF IF IF we had to, then lose the 'weakest link' and upgrade.
As I said, 6-7 weeks still to go. Shall we wait until the season begins before we slit our wrists.

All those teams you mentioned HAD to improve. And as we have seen over the last few years, chucking money around at expensive players is not going to guaranty success on the pitch.

Your last sentence truly baffles me!!
"if you think experience from last year alone will keep us ahead of the rest."
I think you underestimate just how good we were. If we improve on that which i expect us to, then the whole team is upgraded. I'm not saying we don't need more squad players, we do and we will get them

Mentioning Guardioia in such glowing terms & that comment in particular is pointed and unnecessary. This statement, about having a coach who can take him to the next level, makes Walker sound a bit foolish.

Poch has an amazing track record in improving players. You've used the wrong argument Kyle.

Don't see any slit wrists, but unless we sign 2-3 players next week, we won't have any new players on tour or pre season. The season starts in 4 weeks. Trying to bed in a new player 4-5 games in will piss me off. We have 50 mill burning our pockets. Champs league money too. We should have had our targets last season and gone for them. I'm expecting the normal scatter gun approach and see who we end up with hours before window shuts. Simple not good enough

We didn't lose Walker. He didn't want to be here, he wasnt prepared to follow Poch's plans, therefore Poch deemed he could do without him for the right price. If the management still wanted him at Spurs then he would be here. This is not a Berbatov / Bale situation where he went on strike etc. We are now in a completely different place as a team to where we were 5/10 years ago.

I agree with the timing of our signings. The earlier the better. Unfortunately the chairman feels the need to be smart and make the signings financially viable, and hence sometimes the delays- the effect on the footballing side doesn't matter to him.

I think Trippier has the potential to be better. At the moment, he's a good enough player to fill that position until we a) get someone else that's an upgrade or b) he develops well next year.

Should the question be why doesn't Walker want to be here? How do other players feel that Walker has doubles his wage, making an extra 20 million over the next 5 years for leaving Spurs?

You are correct, we are an incredibly good team. Best I've ever seen at the Lane and well worthy of our best Prem finish.

My point however is being missed - whilst I'm also sure we will improve on last season, that is also the case for every other side. And with those sides also making signings on top of that yearly progression they will either close the gap to us or steal a march.
So to the original point, we have to add quality to stay ahead and hopefully land a
