Don't believe JJ has yet poo-pooed this one and with Trix saying that Spurs are looking at loan options along with the media links, this seems to be legitimate target. Probably a similar play to Lucas where he is simply surplus at a huge club like Barcelona.

Still no strong CM links which is the bigger problem though.

Also considering he was a target last January we are familiar with him so it makes sense.

does it though really? we already have lamela , eriksen, dele, lucas in his position. 4 players for 3 spots until son comes back then its up to 5 players for 3 spots. though I suppose could argue son goes straight into CF spot because of Kane god rest his soul.
seems he'd be trading one bench for another, though if its a loan suppose It doesn't matter, fresh face is better than nowt

It's currently a choice (based on reports) between staying under a manager who has an agenda against him (signed against his will), a move to China, or a move to us. He knows we've been interested in the past.

He looks to have the talent to jump ahead of Lamela and Lucas for sure, plus Dele and Eriksen are getting used deeper more and more often. 7 for 4 attacking spots sounds like a healthy amount for a big club too, with Llorente off in the summer. Son as Kane backup with Dele and Lamela as false 9 options.

This could all be BS, as we've had no supporting ITK, but the fact it's originating from Spain and the timing makes sense does add weight to it all IMHO.

I'd probably prefer a more traditional striker that can also do a job wide, but adding another quality AM seems a good opportunity too.

I don’t think that’s entirely true. Recently we’ve been playing a really, really odd diamond with two strikers, that essentially only leaves us with Lamela and Moura on the bench. In terms of squad depth, there is certainly a place for Malcom.

I'm not ITK bashing here, but ITK don't always get it right....so don't hang on there every word, they are really appreciated and add so much to this site and i'm sure all in good faith though.

I do agree, however when it comes to JJ i’d say his track record in the past is good enough to influence people’s opinions.

Honestly I could see a world where he comes in and Lucas is out in the summer. Not sure if he's been the quality that we've hoped and due to his low cost we could probably make some profit on his sale.

It also adds weight, and JJ has been pretty proactive in this window at calling out BS. Although Catalan newspapers reporting about potential Barca player sales do feel a bit more hefty than your typical UK gossip column.

Possibly, he seems to be struggling to get on the teams' wavelength. Definite ability there, I think it'd come down to how happy he is being a backup, especially if another forward came in.

I do wonder who the mirror source is on this. Thfc? Barca? Or HIS AGENT?

Mirror have taken it from the Spanish newspaper Sport, who are seen as the unofficial Barcelona newspaper. So could be the club and/or his agent.

Edit: Does seem like a bit of a dismissal however

Ah, the Tottenham Hotspur fluffer has been dusted off for another play clearly angling for a move out of a top team due to the fact they are wasting their career again.

When will these players learn?

I've said it before, a signing like him or Werner allows, Dele, Eriksen and possible Lamela to move back to the two 8 positions alongside a DM. However I think that we need a better DM than Winks or Dier to make it work.
