From the 90s to 00s Id say a lot of Brazilians flopped but today? Not many flop, in fact most of them come in and do well, then they're picked for the Seleçāo.

I said MOST OF THEM. You literally just went off on one at another poster for this.

Maybe you're a tiny bit biased? Again, all I'm saying is I'd prefer a loan to buy to minimise risk with imports like Malcom.

You don't think Werner looks more suitable for the English game realistically?

Could be this seasons Moura signing. Maybe this is a more realistic option than getting a centre forward. It's difficult to convince a player to warm the bench when Kane starts so many games. Instead we get another versatile attacker so we can rotate more in the attacking positions around Kane. If Kane is out Son can cover up top or if he's also out one of Moura, Lamela, Malcom. It gives us enough depth up top while still keeping players active enough in the first team.

I'm surprised if Barca give up on him so soon to be honest but he needs more game time. He'll need the half season to get up to the Poch way of working so will only offer limited quality this season. If he hits the ground running next season like Moura did we'll have one of the best group of attackers in the country next season.

I think rather than look at the nationality of the players, a better yardstick is the league that they are playing in.

The Bundesliga is imo the closest in style to the PL out of all the major European leagues.

Have the rumours been permanent transfer or loan to buy?

We've obviously scouted him for at least a year, wonder if we even had any preliminary talks with him at Bordeaux.

I didn't actually give my opinion on whether I prefer Werner or Malcom, so thanks for the judgement. I was just stating that a lot of Brazilians, nowadays, are more successful in the PL.

Sure, I'd like Werner and think he'd be a great addition but it's not as simple as saying "he's German there's less risk", there's much much more aspects to look at.

I think Werner would actually be the better buy but not because he's German.

This story seems to be getting some serious coverage, with the media suggesting it’s very likely to happen. May only be to get coverage, however, there’s significant coverage for something to not be happening.

I’m all honesty I would rather play Llorente up front until Son gets back ( and even then maybe play both of them).

Unless we are thinking of selling Moura or Lamela in the summer and think we can negotiate a reasonable agreement to buy Malcom in the summer I really don’t see the point of this.

Its odd as we dont get alot of mainstream transfer media coverage anymore as we seem to keep our cards to our chest. Heres hoping this is because its getting close.

Sweet Jesus this thread has taken a turn for the ridiculous....

Was great to watch unfold, one person doesn't rate him, uses a weak argument to justify why his preferred player is a better shout and we get a few pages of Brazil vs Germany.
